Such a shame that we only had one night in this paradise. Everything was perfect, a warm welcome, great accommodation, amazing scenery and a first class dinner. Even saw 2 platypus and lots off beautiful birds. So peaceful and relaxing.

The quality of the accommodation and dining at Rose Gums is well documented and well deserved but they are not the only attractions at Rose Gums. During a recent visit I spent an hour before breakfast bird watching in an area of grass and rainforest edge just downhill from the reception area. During this short time I saw a remarkable... More

Many thanks for your review Barry This is a typical day at Rose Gums Retreat where the birding is superb for most of the year and where there is always lots of activity. For the seasoned birder, it is quite normal to get around the forty species in a morning walk and the reason for the wealth of bird life... More

We stayed here in a log cabin for four nights. The facilities were excellent and the area had some wonderful local walks. The restaurant where we ate on two nights was exceptional and quite unexpected in the back of beyond and all the staff were very friendly. We would certainly stay here again if we got the chance. The only... More

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Rose Gums and thank you for taking the time to post your review. The Hercules moth (the heaviest moth in the world) is indeed very active at sundown and you will have seen many of them busy in the rainforest during your stay. However, the sometimes deafening sound you mentioned... More

I booked to stay in a Tree House with my elderly parents in October 2014. We we were looking for some peace and quiet and just a bit of family time. That is exactly what we got! We saw no other guests from our Tree House and and didn't hear any either - despite the resort being fully booked. We... More

A beautiful two bedroom cabin with a balcony overlooking rainforest. Fully self contained but with a restaurant of this quality don't cook your own dinner. Absolutely fabulous. The hosts are very keen to share their knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Stunning holiday and can't recommend enough.

Easily the best of 7 places we stayed in during a recent trip to Oz. The cabins are simply stunning - carefully located, cleverly designed, beautifully finished and well equipped. The walks on the property are great, and Peta is full of useful advice about the area. The food in the little restaurant was just superb (and this with a... More

My partner and I flew in to Cairns, hired a vehicle and drove to Rose Gums Retreat in about eighty minutes. We stayed for six nights and could not believe we had found such a paradise. Just loved the serenity , beautiful cabin with log for and spa bath overlooking the rainforest . Lovely getaway for a wedding Anniversary. Restaurant has small but delicious menu , cooked to perfection . Not far from village to stock up if needed . Would stay there again in a heartbeat .

This is the perfect place to stay in the tablelands in winter. We had the fire going while the rain was pouring outside and there was nothing to do but totally relax.
