On opening the door we were greeted by a strong chemical smell, overwhelmingly strong. The first thing I checked out was the bathroom, it was very dated, the shower cubicle needs ripping out and retiling. The owner has made a big effort in the main room. Everything was scrupulously clean, new carpet, new curtains, nice bedding all matching and crisp... More

I stay at the Herbert Valley Motel whenever I go to Ingham for work. It is not the newest property but offers clean and comfortable rooms at reasonable prices. The in house meals are fantastic and they do room service which allows you to keep working in your room. The proprietor Dennis is a friendly chap and also happy to... More

No its not 4 star but it is very nice and clean with good sized rooms. I read the menu for the restaurant and decided not to bother as it was quite unrealistic with its pricing. The motel prices were very reasonable probably a little high for the quality. Overall not to bad

Agree with all the previous reviewers except that the hi-vis workers when we were there were a pest until late - luckily our room was a fair way from them. Particularly agree with Suzanne about the unbearably strong chemical smell, thank heaven we could open the window. Didn't see any cockies but the place is old and shabby. Wouldn't stay... More

My daughter and I shared a twin room on our road trip from Cairns to Melbourne in July 2013. The guy running it was nice enough and the rooms seemed reasonably clean. The rooms are very old and so are the bathrooms. A couple of Cocky's but what the hell its Queensland. It's not the Taj Mahal but it's ok... More

This motel is very dated and needs a good overhaul, Stayed there luckily for only one night, the rooms reeked of very strong chemicals and was pleased to get out into the fresh air. Beds were quite comfortable but not a lot of anything else going for it

Stayed at this motel for a weekend wedding in ingham. First trip away with 8 month old so booked a family room for the extra space to fit a portacot. Wise move. While the rooms are in fairly "original" condition, they are very clean and well maintained. Security is good and despite there being a few high vis workers enjoying... More

The rooms are dated but spacious and clean. I believe they are making some improvements. My only irk is the carpet really needs to go. It is stained and has a strong chemical smell. (It was clean though). The beds were comfortable and the shower hot. It is air- conditioned, a small fridge, tea & coffee facilities and pay tv.... More

I had to stay here recently when the highway was closed due to flooding. The rooms are clean, but certainly dated. The beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious. There is an attached restaurant, Maria's Bistro, but it was closed because of the flood. The manager allowed us to get food from the restaurant and create our own barbecue with all... More
