The best thing about this hostel is the wildlife. We sat on our veranda in the evening and watched the bats fly off into the evening sky, the walabies jump across the lawn and the possums stalk people's food. We stayed in a private room which was basic and rather small but comfortable. The toilets were plentiful and clean. There... More

the wildlife at and around the hostel was amazing, so many wallabies and possums, the accommodation itself was okay but expect ants everywhere. The evenings were extremely quiet and with not much to do sometimes dragged however Ben created activities for everyone to join in which were really good. Having to pay for Internet became a nuisance and constantly having... More

Loved this hostel - really relaxed and laidback, in a great location, with a great little pool. Easy walking distance down to the bay with all the shops and the beach, and also easy access to some great walking trails including one up to some old World War II forts. The staff had little events on every night, ranging from... More

The dorms looked nice but was quite difficult to sleep in without AC. The hostel covers a big area so it takes a while to go from place to place and the kitchen was under renovation while we were there which forced us to cook the food outside where it looked a bit messy. Otherwise than that, the hostel has... More

Went over to Magnetic Island on a day trip. We ended up at Horseshoe bay and decided to stay the night. We rang ahead to check availability as this hostel is 350m from beach front. Booked a private room. Greeted by friendly receptionist however they had to take my card for the night due to having closed reception for evening.... More

It is like a little village with all separate cottages. 5 min walk from the beach where you can do all sorts of water activities. We went kayaking and spotted heaps of sea turtles. The koala village is adorable. Must do is the wildlife breakfast, great explanation of all the animals they have and the chance to hold them!

great for students, stayed there with a big group when i studied abroad and it was cheap and fun. they do activities each night for guests like coconut bowling and trivia. it's also a koala sanctuary so you can meet some of them with the staff. short walk to horseshoe bay. rooms are small but clean. enjoyable stay.

I'd heard about visiting here for the guided tour around. It lasted for 2 hours and the guide was very informative. There were lots of reptiles that we all got chance to handle and we were encouraged to take lots of photo's! I went really for the sole reason of getting close to koala bears. As previous comments, it was... More

We stayed in the Love Shack (!) with a double bed room and ensuite , fridge plus own deck outside. Could fall out of bed into swimming pool in morning. Very handily located with a bus stop nearby and short walk to Horseshoe Bay where there is a lovely beach and shops so we could buy food, drink, clothes &... More
