We were lucky enough to stay in the Deluxe Room - excellent for the price - not a cluttered room, lots of nice facilities, tea, coffee, hair dryer, iron and board, CLEAN - the bed was very comfortable, the blanket was real cotton - not the little 'nylon' thing most places now offer - the view was beautiful, the restaurants... Lovely spot. The staff were so helpful. We were very lucky to have a ground floor room with disabled facilities since my mum cannot manage stairs. The disabled car park was located close to the door or the room and the access was a slopping pathway which was easy for mum to navigate. There is only one of there rooms... More

Decided on an impromptu trip to Cooktown. Many many years ago stayed at the Seaview as it was the place to stay. Called the motel direct, prior to setting off and was able to make a last minute booking. Originally booked a budget room ( which probably would have been more than fine) but on arrival decided to upgrade to... More

Checked out this place on the internet on recommendations of a few friends.....I loved the place but thought it was a bit overpriced at $175 per couple even though there were 2 double beds here and no restaurant.....but position and view was ideal.....still loved it..............I wanted ground floor as I have breathing problems but didn,t realise 2 double beds there... We stayed a night at the Seaview Motel during the Cooktown Discovery Festival and could not fault it. Our room was spotless and the view over the Endeavour River was magnificent. The motel is on Charlotte St (the main street of Cooktown) and just a short walk from a couple of pubs, some cafes/restaurants and the Captain Cook Museum.

this accommodation has a grand view undoubtedly the best in cooktown but sadly that is where it finishes maintenance in the bathrooms is required to bring the rooms to a reasonable level one would expect could be a real classy experience just needs so polishing up

The Seaview motel is in a great location. We were able to walk around town, to the water and the park. The room was clean and simple. The view was wonderful. I enjoyed waking up (before the kids), making a cup of coffee, and sitting on one of the many chairs in the grass in front of our room.

Arriving in Cooktown late in the afternoon we wanted something clean, simple, budget yet comfortable. That is just what we found at the Seaview. The views were breathtaking, second to none!. The staff were helpful and accommodating and we chose the budget room which was perfect for our needs with tea and coffee facilities and air-conditioning and comfortable bed. From... More

This is an old motel and could do with some serious upgrading. It's situated right across the road from the river and offers great views, especially at sunset, which is unusual because we're on the East side of Oz. Our room was fairly close to the road and ergo subjected to a fair amount of traffic noise, mainly fishermen with... More

Dear guest, We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the Seaview motel. It is noted, re the lawn getting mowed., at an inappropriate time. Thankyou for bringing to my attention the lack of fire alarm, which has been duly rectified. With regards to the "traffic "noise, We are on the main street and cannot regulate the amount... More

Choose one of the newer rooms which are a little bigger and a little more expensive (36 onwards). The view was great sitting on the balcony watching the world go by and the traffic on the river. You are a little removed from the town centre but can easily walk to it. The very interesting interpretive history walk starts nearby... More
