This has to be one of the best motels in Australia. Situated right on the beach you feel instantly relaxed from the time you arrive. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which overlooked the beach meaning we woke up each morning to the most magnificent view of the sea and Hinchinbrook island. The hosts are so friendly they make you... Cardwell has to be one of the nicest spots to stop in FNQ and this motel enhances the experience. Overlooking the beach and Hinchinbrook island is the best way to spend a night. Nicely refurbished rooms and welcoming owners make a great change. Also free wifi with no restrictions big hotels should take note.Plenty of food shops and 24hr petrol... More

We stayed overnight in Cardwell and walked along the beachfront to the Coral Sea memorial in the morning. It was a pleasant walk and the historical information interesting. The room was self contained so we were able to prepare a continental breakfast and sit outside. The owners were extremely helpful. We arrived just just as the owner was going to... More

We have just returned from a great 3 night stay in Cardwell Beachfront Motel with hosts Steve & Janet, who made us very pleased with our choice of motels. Looking for a town to go to have a Sunlander train trip before it is terminated at the end of the year, we chose Cardwell because we left & reboarded the... More

An excellent choice for a long or short stay in Cardwell. Listen to the waves at night (the water is that close), stroll along the foreshore and down to the visitors centre and shops, or jump on the boat to Hinchinbrook just metres from your room. Janet and Steve are as good as it gets, friendly, helpful, flexible and generous.... More

I don't know where to start with my praise and compliments for Steve and Janet at the Cardwell Beachfront Motel. Steve and Janet do all they can to make your stay exactly as you want it but not in a pushy way, just so very friendly and helpful. We very quickly felt at home and loved every moment of our... More

We are locals from cairns and visited the motel the night before hiking Hinchinbrook, what a beautiful spot! right on the beach, all the rooms were so clean and Janet and Steve (who run the motel) were so friendly and helpful. They drove us to catch the boat for Hinchinbrook in the morning, suggested good cafes to visit and ensured... More

Very nice little Motel right next to the beach and jetty. The owners are extremly kind and friendly. They'll tell you the best places for dinner, breakfast or drinks if you talk to them. The rooms are well equiped. The only thing that's missing are cooking facilities such as a microwave or cooking plates.

It was great to see you and your Dad decide to stay on for an extra night Max - there is such a surprising range of things to see and do for nature lovers in this region! In hindsight, we could have recommended an upgrade of the Motel room that you booked on the internet, to a Self-contained apartment. While... More

Recent overnight stay from Brisbane to visit some Cardwell friends. Steve and Janet's professionalism and genuineness was a wonderful surprise on this stay. On arrival they were extremely helpful and engaging. For what we paid the room it was very comfortable and they had thought of most of the things that are often forgotten. They offered the use of bicycles... More

My husband and I decided to have a night away for the long weekend. We have a six month old and didn't want to go too far. The beachfront motel was so perfect for us. We have fish and chips with the hosts and went for lovely walks along the beach. Only two days away but feeling very relaxed. Thanks... More

So glad that you enjoyed a relaxing stay in Cardwell - we certainly enjoyed your company, and meeting baby Olive. The boardwalk and beach are great for babies - it won't be long until she will be demanding to spend time at the nearby playground..... More
