This place was simply magical. By far my favourite part of my trip to Cairns. I only wish I had spent more time here and less in Cairns. Everything about this place was epic! Having said that, it's not going to be for everyone...WARNING...the bathroom and shower are OUTSIDE...it has to be one of the coolest bathrooms I've ever seen,... More

We are always happy to hear that our guests have enjoyed the place, and our efforts in creating this unique place are appreciated. And as some guests have said; this place is not for everyone, and they are right, you need a bit of a sense of adventure to stay here, but why would you leave home to travel if... More

We had some trepidation about the Rainforest Hideaway - particularly the open bathroom, but that was such a treat. Made me want to redesign our bathroom and put in a rainforest. The Hideaway is great. The work that has gone into developing it is staggering. We stayed for four nights and regretted that it was that short. If you get... More

Rainforest Hideaway is a totally relaxing place to spend time away from the rush of life in big centres. Situated in 5 acres of rainforest, the Hideaway has cabins and rooms with ensuites. Rob is the ultimate host. There are numerous bush trails which offer easy walking and beside the trails are great numbers of concrete sculptures from a hiding... More

During our trip through North Queensland we spent 4 fantastic days at Rainforest Hideaway. Remembering it - it still seems like a dream: Secluded in the rainforest with its beautiful vegetation and animals we couldn't believe our eyes when we stepped into our cosy cabin with the incredible outside bathroom. The stress level of the past months at work instantly... More

Had the weekend free after a conference, decided to head up to Cape Trib to get away from Cairns. After a great lunch at Whet, the lovely girl in charge recommended a couple of places to stay and phoned ahead for me. The pole house was available at Rainforest Retreat: sold!! All the sights and sounds of the rainforest to... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your stay here, and I am happy to hear you enjoyed our place. The only reason I can think of that the outdoor shower did not run would be that a wind gust would have blown out the pilot flame on the hot water unit, we would have lit... More

this amazing place is even more so, too think that one man created all this out out of the wilderness, using materials mostly found locally.we were welcomed warmly and allowed to explore the hideaway and all its hidden treasures and there is lots of them.i can thoroughly reccommend the room with the outdoor shower and toilet, an experience to remember as... "Unique" can be an overused word but this B&B comes very very close. The sounds of the forest are different every night, and when it rains, it's even better (and louder). Light sleepers probably get even more enjoyment. A relaxed and relaxing hideaway, and one that is a credit to the creativity and hospitality of Rob, the host.

Host, Rob, has combined his skills as a builder and sculptor to design this wonderful rainforest retreat. Along with his local knowledge, and the location of Hideaway, it all adds up to a brilliant getaway. Coming from the frozen winter in Melbourne, I was relieved with the weather, obviously, and thought staying this far north would be more 'resorty' and... More

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt I needed to tell others how good this place was. I also don't normally stay at B&B's, but this is not like any normal B&B. It didn't feel like a B&B at all. The would stay was unquie in a way I'm sure we would find anywhere else. Things I liked the... More

The rainforest hideaway is the most unique places my wife and I have ever been. Very friendly host shows how it is possible to live comfortably in an area that doesn't have the same services provided by council as the most of Australia. The most relaxing bathroom I have ever been to anywhere. If you go to cape trib avoid... More
