I stayed at PK's for one night while doing a rainforest tour. I was in an 8 bed dorm near the pool and showers. The room was dark and dingy and the beds were really uncomfortable. Luckily there were only three of us in the room so we were able to have a top and bottom bunk. It was cooler... More

I have stayed at over 20 hostels in my life and this is by far the worst. There was no friendly 'vibe' and Mark the manager was not very welcoming- actually plain out rude. He didn't treat the staff nicely either. Usually at hostels they will give you atleast at map and show you where the necessities are but they... More

Just came back after 3 weeks up there, the management are just a joke. How the roar and grunt at customers is dreadful. The way they speak to their staff and how their treated was totally uncalled for. They're obviously not happy as the way they're being ordered around and growled at by management, I witnessed it. I wouldn't recommend... More

So dissapointing! PKs is located right next to the snake house where many tours and activities depart. I stopped by PKs before and after jungle surfing and was thoroughly insulted by the staff here. Maybe because I'm a Muslim women I was treated this way, or maybe they have no manners in general. The Irish staff in particular didn't give... More

Good place to stay for backpackers when in cape trib. Has the look of a party hostel with a large bar but it's quite evident they've cracked down on everything. The owner is very present and the staff seemed pretty unhappy being so under the thumb. Bar closed around 10 -11pm so there was nothing really left to do but... More

We went here in January and there was more hidden costs then you could poke a stick at. $10 extra for each person camping and there was only two of us?! Mates also rented out a cabin and when we arrived, guy had no idea what he was doing and tried charging everyone more then what they had booked! Nearly... More

Me and a friend stayed in a 7 bed dorm for 2 nights as a stop off while on a cape trib tour. The room was nice and clean and ideally opposite the shower/toilet block which was very clean. The room was clean but for me far too cold with the ac! luckily got a blanket from reception but was... More

Cabins are extremely basic no coffee facilities and you have to wait for the kitchen to open in the morning, not that great if your an early riser wanting to explore before the heat. The place is for backpackers and run by backpackers who do all the work. The pool wasnt clean and iffy to swim in. The area pks... More

Ok location fantastic. I decided to book a budget double bed room for $70 a night (with A/C). To my surprise the room was in fact a shipping container that had been converted into rooms or to be completely honest prison cells. I placed my baggage down and turned the A/C on hoping to eliminate the over bearing musty /... More

Location wise PK's is great, only a few minutes walk from the beach and central to all the activities in the area. The dorm room however was less than desirable. The room smelt musty, had no hooks to hang your things or a mirror. There was only 1 small window near the ceiling, which hardly let any light or air... More
