After visiting this place almost every month for 5 years, imagine my shock when the nut-job of a owner abuses me & my friends, breaks into my mates car & steals all electrical equipment. Since these guys took over 2 years ago it has gone down the drain. The staff are miserable (not surprising); the pool was disgusting & the... More

This review does not give the full story of what happened in this situation... The car was left unattended in our car park for 5 days (right next to a sign advising overnight parking only for guests), we didn't know who it belonged to and grew increasingly concerned about the whereabouts and well being of the owner as we are... The owners are rude and don't know how to run a back packers. I went up there a few years ago and it was so much better. The drinks are so over priced now a jug of beer is $20 when it use to be $12, a rum and Coke used to be $4.50 for locals now they don't have... More

I'm sorry that you felt the prices in the bar were expensive, our prices are actually very competitive compared with other places in the area. Cape Tribulation is a remote area, all goods must cross a cable ferry to be delivered to us and there is no mains power north of the river so everything up here is ran on... More

We made the huge mistake of eating at pks. What a disgrace. On a night away from Cairns we expected to eat something half decent at pks. We were wrong. We ordered a tbone steak with mushroom sauce and a battered barrumundi with chips and salad. The fish was burnt and was aweful. The tbone steak was tough. The mushroom... More

This comment is entertaining. As the head chef of PK's Jungle Village it is an obligation of mine to reply and justify in dealing with this situation. I was working the night of the incident and recall dealing with the problem accordingly when it was brought to my attention. I offered to change the sauce because the customer was unhappy... More

Go to Cape Tribulation - it's beautiful but staying at PK's will feel like you're in a youth detention facility. The first thing we noticed were the threatening signs everywhere ... and then we met the manager. What a bully boy. PK's threaten to search bags, tents and rooms for any BYO alcohol and claim if they find it, it... More

Good price with facilities that made camping on a m/bike easy. Great staff and bar (probably set up for the younger generation than me) was great. Waking up to sounds of rainforest bird life etc, was wonderful.

60+ of family and friends stayed at PKs mid December. Some stayed one night some two but most stayed for four nights. That just goes to show how amazing it was. The resort itself was well maintained and the rooms were clean and adequate. All the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable. Meals where... More

PKs is in such an amazing spot it's a shame that this is instantly tainted by the boot camp approach from management. We were travelling in a group of 10 and from the get go we were made to feel unwelcome and drilled with rules - these rules can also be found postered everywhere incase you missed the memo. The... Certainly not worth $130.00 a night. No kettle, cups, coffee, tea etc that you would expect from a motel of this price. Also, where do you hang your clothes? No hooks on the wall, but a cupboard where underwear and clothes could be hung/stored, even a bedside table would have been handy. Did mention this to the manager before we... More

The room was only worth about 1/2 of what they charged for it. The kitchen is filthy and the food terrible-saw 2 people send their food back. The staff overall are totally unfriendly almost to the point of being rude. There are signs everywhere saying that you can't do this and you can't do that. The bar closed at 9:15... More

Due to our licensing laws BYO alcohol is not allowed within our resort and for the safety of our guests we enforce this. Management asked this guest and his friends to take their alcohol to reception where it would be stored and returned upon check out over 4 times before extreme measures were taken and drinks confiscated. Apart from being... More

Pk's was a cool place to stay overnight on our rainforest excursion. The place is reasonably clean considering it is in the middle of a jungle, and its only a 5 minute stroll straight down to the beach that you will only have to share with a few other people, or you can enjoy the pool instead, then you can...
