We were greeted by a warm welcome by the manager at Reception and given fresh milk for tea/coffee as well as some handy hints on dining etc. First thoughts on walking to our room were how well groomed and maintained the grounds were. Once in our room (motel type), it was evident the same attention to detail was applied here.... More

To say scenic for this resort is an understatement. Built atop gorgeous granite boulders, nestled in beautiful tropical gardens, jutting out into a jeweled sea with patrolled beaches either side, this place is paradise! Welcoming staff, a bar, local restaurant nearby. very clean and comfortable! The fact it is not centrally located in Bowen was more appealing to me.

We stopped over on our way northwards. The room was clean and excellent amenities, the patio door opened onto the area down to the little beach. We sat at the table by the beach with a glass of wine watching the sunset.....awesome sight. Although it is not situated centrally there is a Chinese restaurant in the complex next door which... I have stayed at the Whitsunday Sands from time to time over the last 8-10 years. It is an amazing location with very attractive scenery, beaches, granite boulders, gardens and wild life. It offers a range of standards. My last visit was from 1-4 December 2013. It has none of the "resort" hype, rather a quiet hideaway. Unfortunately the restaurant... More

Waking up to the sound of a bush turkey outside was room was a novelty.. This resort which sits on a headland Horse Shoe Bay at Bowen was very nice. About 8km from Bowen central it is not centrally located but the views make the trip worthwhile. It would be worth having a vehicle to get there and for exploring.... More

My wife and I had a business assignment in Bowen requiring 4 nights accommodation. We were very aware of the 24/7 news reporting of devastation for Queenslanders and took on the journey with some trepidation - about 2,500 k's including three flights and aroad journey of 2.5 hours. We had read reports of crocodiles seen crossing highways in flood waters... More

We stayed for 1 night in November and had a room with a queen bed and 2 singles. The location is amazing as the resort is at the end of a point so has a beach on opposite sides of the resort with fantastic views and lovely breeze. The room was very clean and included a kitchenette, with sink, microwave,... More

Stayed there many times. Always had good service and looking forward to another visit real soon. Not too pricey and clean and comfortable. Highly recommend it. It is a short distance from Bowen and does have an Indian restaurant attached now. There is a Thai restaurant up the hill 1 min walk which is very good and also a great... More
