A beautiful place to stay, next to lake Eacham so we would have a swim in the lake each afternoon. Room are basic but clean, we stayed with our two boys in one cabin plenty of space. Loved the nocturnal animal viewing, saw sugar gliders and bandicoots. made to feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble, a wonderful stay,... More

A short drive from Lake Eachum (great swimming BTW) is Chambers Wildlife Lodges. The name says it all. Each unit is well equipped with kitchenette, TV, wireless internet and comfortable chairs all snuggled into the forest. The best part is the night viewing of creatures. Striped possums and Sugar Gliders a meter away make for outstanding photos of wild animals... More

I've stayed here twice now. It's off the road, so there's no road noise. You can stay in your room, leave the windows open and just enjoy the wonderful rainforest sounds. I loved being woken each morning to the natural sounds of birds and wildlife. The rooms are basic and simple, it's the atmosphere that makes it superb. I'll be... More

Nothing fancy but nice rooms with great new beds. Fully equipped kitchens. Grounds full of birds with night feeding of bandicoot, sugar gliders and opossums. Note no food but fine nearby restaurants. No AC but not needed at 3,000 ft.

Go here for the wildlife and escapism, not for a luxury retreat. We were there in rainy season, (but were blessed width good weather) and based on reviews we expected damp and musty smells, but experienced none - our lodge had new flooring, and bedding was dry, clean and comfortable. John was a wonderful host, very kind and informative. We... More

We had been looking forward to staying at Chambers Wildlife Lodge having heard some good things about it, however our experience didn't justify those reviews. The owner was pleasant and friendly and the location is superb but the place has a run down feeling to it and the lodgings were not up to the standard they should be for what... More

The lodge was amongst a beautiful rainforest setting, very relaxed and peaceful at night. The king size beds were good and plenty of room throughout for families. The cleanliness was poor it smelt really damp rotten timber. we stayed at this place 20 years prior and it was fantastic. The place needs a really good reno and spring clean to... More

We will return!!! Spur of the moment decision to see what was available online for a night away and stumbled upon this place... So pleased we did!!! Only an hour or so from home but could be the other side of the world. Very comfortable, especially the King bed, Private, Quiet, except for the wonderful wildlife, and as clean as... More

Escaping from hot and humid Cairns to this lovely spot in a world heritage rainforest was a good decision. It has a feel of a B&B as the kitchen has full facilities and supplies can be purchased from a nearby town. The king bed was comfortable, hot water plentiful, and digital TV reception for those who need it. Plentiful wildlife... More

Our family stayed at the Lodge in June 2012 for two nights. We were visiting Australia from the U.S., with the goal of seeing unique wildlife in natural settings, where the animals live, i.e., not in a zoo or simulated environment. Our entire trip was straight-up wonderful, but our short stay at the Chambers Wildlife Lodge constituted one of several... More
