Owner John Chambers Greeted us at the office and was always available with a smile to advise us. Upon arrival he set us off to a room and we no sooner got there than he called and told us he had a cancellation and a room better suited to us came available if we would like to move, which we... I booked this place for a group of 3 looking for a cool change from the heat of North Qld. The rainforest setting is indeed amazing, just on the edge of Lake Eacham and the National Park. The lodge we originally were given overlooked the car park so I asked to change to a more private one and the owner... More

One hardly hears about the rainforests of Australia given the usual focus given to cities such as Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. But I heard about the many beautiful birds and creatures that can be seen in the rainforests of northern Queensland. So I decided to make a trip there last November. One of the stops that we made was at... More

I have stayed at Chambers Wildlife Rainforest Lodges on a number of occasions over a decade. The proprietor, John is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are well set-up and comfortable. The Lodge is in forest near Lake Eacham and literally teams with interesting wildlife. It is a great place for birdwatchers and folks just interested in nature. Wifi is... More

For anyone with an interest in wildlife, Chamber's is hard to beat. Riflebirds, robins and brush turkeys on the balcony, sugar and squirrel gliders, bandicoots, and striped possums almost every night, rainforest all round. It's an amazing place. It is not, however, luxurious, as some reviewers seem to expect. It is basic but comfortable (the free WiFi is nice), and... More

Not knowing what to expect as we had never been to this particular area, I was more then impressed. Myself and 4 children spent 3 days and two nights here. The accomodation was perfect, nothing flash but nether the less perfect. Mr Chambers was welcoming and informative about the surrounding area, place to go, things to do, places to eat... More

We were checked in by Mr Chambers who is clearly very proud of his facility. The accommodation was very clean and there was lots of wildlife to see especially possums. My youngest daughter was disappointed not to see a cassowary however! We also made use of the large function room as there were eight of us. It was well stocked... More

This was a bit of a last minute booking for us as we needed somewhere to stay between Cape Tribulation and Undara Lava Tubes. Well, am I glad we chose here (and sorry that we only had the one night!). We are bird and wildlife mad, and we were not disappointed. Victorian Riflebirds and a Spotted Catbird appeared within minutes... More

Stayed in January last year and despite saying we'd return again and again we only made it again 18 months later, however we'll be sure not to leave it so long between visits next time! Spotlessly clean, great king bed, nice & private, all facilities one could hope for, and a great heater for a mid winters tablelands night... We... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The accommodation is very basic but we didn't mind. It was on the more expensive side for the state of the room and facilities but you pay a premium for the remote location. The room was very wet and there was a constant puddle of water on one side...
