If planning to stay at this "resort" you need to manage your expectations. In my experience, rustic can mean nicely appointed and charming without all of the comforts of home. It doesn't necessarily mean run down and dirty. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with kitchenette. It was a very spacious room and we really appreciated having the ability... More

The place is really run down, mold in the rooms , your property is tampered with and never safe. It's not a friendly environment. Your over charged for everything. Nothing there is safe to drink or shower with.

I had the pleasure of staying at the David Thompson Resort this summer and it was worth every second. We were hosted graciously, served delicious BBQ, and had the worlds greatest cowboy breakfast. If you are near the Rocky Mountain House area or anywhere within driving distance and need a place to stay and play, this is the place to... More

We did not stay at this place but did stop for lunch. The service was 'so-so' and the food was ok but not great. Prices were ok for what we got. The washrooms were very poor and did not appear to have been cleaned for some time.

This was our third time attending the music festival. We camp out with our fifth wheel trailer in the resort. This year we brought no less than 30 people. We had so much fun in past years we invite as many friends as we can. Again this year was super. The performers were great, the resort is great, the staff... More

Term 'Resort' should be taken with a grain of salt & vinegar. The only reason it gets a rating is the desk staff are awesome. The rooms are disgusting & grossly outdated, not to mention, dirty. Couldn't even imagine having a shower & feeling clean. Pictures (which are both the same) are screwed to the wall & definitely not worth... More

We made a reservation by phone before leaving Edmonton. When we arrived that night (in the rain and cold, on motorcycles), they informed us they didn't have any reservation made for us, which really put me and my wife in a terrible bind! No help from the staff on this. We were lucky to have found a room in Nordegg,... More

I was a little sceptical based on some of the previous reviews but there was such a disparity between the opinions offered, I thought I'd just go and see for myself. The two young ladies at the front desk were warm and friendly and checked us in very efficiently. Our camp site was a nice big drive through (we have... More

This resort is in the middle of the beautiful Canadian Rockies and is truly an interesting experience. It is what you want to make it and is very reasonable compared to hotel and motel prices in the rest of the park. The motel is older but our room was certainly well maintained and very clean. Cell phones don't work here,... More

Spent two evenings here as it provided 42 km access to the national parks to the west. Prominent features include concrete block room walls, harvest gold bathroom fixtures and velveteen blankets on two double beds supported by 2x4's with four TV stations on 20" screen to enrich entertainment experience. Drought years likely contributed to all the dead pruned trees lining... More
