The room was lovely BUT.... There is a terrace directly behind the room so it is not possible to open the windowsas there are people sitting smoking there. The terrace is open until 11pm, so people drinking and smoking right at the window until then. That is the least of the problems as all of the noise from the Cafe... More

At first glance this hotel seems quaint and characterful. The chap who booked me in was very friendly and professional. My room, Judges Room, was clean and tidy with a small en-suite. I was staying here on business and wanted to sit just sit back and relax and watch the world cup. Firstly, It was a hot day I would... More

We were in the area for a seminar. We had the Judges room (twin beds). Nicely appointed, comfortable beds, good shower with good pressure. Breakfast served a time of our choice. The surrounding are enchanting and the Indian restaurant next door, Moonsoon was pleasant and the food delicious. I don't hesitate recommending this central location, only possible drawback is parking... More

I was actually looking forward to staying at the Gothic house for 2 nights. As I was arriving after 8pm i was told on the phone that the cafe below where u check in would be closed when I arrived so someone would meet me there. On arrival the 'cafe' most certainly was not closed. In fact it was open... More

Stayed in May 2014. Beautiful, comfortable room and incredibly helpful staff who let me in out of hours on a Sunday due to my travel arrangements. I notice someone else has slated the breakfast - mine was perfect - I was asked what time I wanted it and was able to choose from a full breakfast menu. Cooking was excellent.... More

This accomodation is 3 rooms over a wine bar. Not a problem if the wine bar is open. We arrived Easter Sunday and was told that the bar closes at 4pm and no one would be back until Tuesday. Therefore is would be closed to serve breakfast. We were asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast they would get someone... More

Excellent place to stay. We stayed in the Cromwell room, named after a nearby listed old timber framed house. Lovely room and had a great night's sleep. We have family in the area and attended nephew's 30th birthday held at the Crows Nest which was only a short walk away. We just hope that next time this arm of the... More

One almost feels as if you have taken a step back in time when entering the Sackville room with its heavy red tapestry curtains, 4 poster and large wardrobe. Atmosphere is fabulous and surprisingly the rest of the suite has been upgraded to the "best of" with a large shower and bath tub. I was disappointed not be supplied with... More

Friendly staff, interesting building and room, good location and excellent breakfast. I enjoy staying at individual hotels likes this much more than that the rather bland, indifferent and uniform hotel chains. Arrived at night and so was a little surprised to pull back the curtains and find that my room overlooked the graveyard (I should have guessed from the name!)... More

My husband and I stayed for one night when attending a wedding near by.The Cromwell room was small but perfectly formed, beautifully decorated and felt very homely. It overlooked the church yard which meant it was lovely and quiet overnight. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good too in the lovely cafe bar downstairs. The only tiny thing that let it... More
