We stayed overnight in the 'Cromwell Room'. The room was as expected, very clean, all amenities, the shower was excellent. TV needed to be operated manually, but guess we should have told the staff the batteries need changing in the remote control. The staff were superb, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was superb, but... More

We stayed here for 1 night the hotel itself is lovely. When I booked I requested a room with a bath when we arrived we were told they only had a few rooms and we had to take the one with a shower. The staff are very helpful however if you don't mind the noisiest beds ever it's a lovely... More

lovely place to stay central to everything. Chequers mead 5walk away. Rooms very clean. Friendly staff and willing help. Breakfast was good. Worth a trip back. My granddaughter was very happy with room. Love the fact she could get sky on TV. And hot chocolate in tea and coffee tray. Separate entrance to rooms.

We only stayed one night to visit the chequer mead centre where my favourite singer was playing, it is only a short stroll away. We arrived at check in time and was shown to the sackville room, this is a large room at the front of the hotel, it has a four poster bed and huge old furniture, the bathroom... More

We stayed in the Sackville Room yesterday. This room is absolutely gorgeous with its four poster bed, roll top bath and fab shower in the spacious en suite and beautiful furniture throughout. The breakfast was lovely and just what we needed to set us up for a day at Hever Castle and 200 mile journey home today. The staff were... More

We loved this place. We arrived around 4.30ish on a Saturday afternoon and the bar was busy and it had a great atmosphere. We stayed in the Cromwell room which was a decent enough size with a decent sized double bed. If you're more of a Hilton-type customer then you might turn your nose up at the quirkiness of the... I stayed here for just one night due to building work at my house in East Grinstead and would love to support the local business with a 4 or 5 star review but this does fall directly into the average category. My boyfriend and I were in the Cromwell room. It is small and has a smaller than usual double... More

My room for 2 nights in this hotel was amazing. The decor and furnishings throws you back in time. I had a room with a four post bed and the whole affair felt very luxurious. I would heartily recommend.

I was in the Sackville room which is one of the more superior rooms I think. Good large sized room, large bathroom with both a bath and shower, all clean and well presented. Really nice cooked breakfast the morning after (given the option of a slightly later breakfast as we were the only ones in for breakfast) and great central... More

3rd visit to Gothic House,( for Lingfield Races) and just as good as always. Quick and friendly check in at the adjoining bar.We did have the room next to the terrace this time but that was not an issue for us as we were out all day until late, and it was closed when we returned. The room itself was... More
