A friend and I enjoyed a nice evening and morning at Gravetye. The setting is quite lovely--between the stone of the manor house, and the views across the lush countryside. We enjoyed lunch in the garden, and the food from the lunch menu was excellent, although the breakfast was nothing remarkable--no better, and perhaps slightly less good, than I've found... more

We stayed for 2 nights at Gravetye as we were celebrating my sister's 40th birthday in a nearby village. We wanted to treat ourselves and booked this beautiful hotel in wonderful grounds. Now this is an old hotel so don't expect plasma Tv's and a fitness centre. it oozes charm and character and could be a settings for a medieval... more

Despite the change in ownership a couple of years ago, Gravetye Manor is one of those few places which never changes in its nature - it remains a timeless island of England as it once was - it never ages while its loyal clientelle simply gets older. Thankfully, the qualities of the restaurant do not change either - dinner is... more

We would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us recently, and for the kind words there in. We would like to address some of the comments especially concerning the bedroom and bathroom of the master room which you occupied. This is an original Art Deco bathroom which this winter saw the bath...

Gravetye is a great place for a short relaxing break. The ambience, surroundings are second to none though the price for this is high. Rooms are well appointed, spacious and well kept. The bathroom in the room I was allocated was possibly in need of a little refreshing - nothing bad- spacious, clean and nice but just seeming a little... more

Last time here a 5 Star and it deserved it and we were on an exclusive hire weekend with a large crowd. This time 4 Star - some of the rooms are looking tired (mainly bathrooms looking rather 80s on top floor), old TVs etc and I think it is time to do some amends before they start losing loyal... more

While traveling through England in October, I was thrilled to re-visit Gravetye. It is an exceptional and large Tudor home. It is under the banner of Relais and Chateau, so you may rest assured that it is exceedingly special. The room was huge and filled with every amenity, including the bath. The service was outstanding, while the presentation of tea... more

A repeat visit and all was just as before. Food perfect. The best fish, cheese, berries, apple juice in the world! Service tops. Atmosphere soothing. A real Elizabethan manorhouse with modern comforts. Our room was just as we left it a year ago except it had been painted and had new wall paper. A year ago the room had been... more

Having lived very close to Gravetye for many, many years and having enjoyed more than our fair share of (in our opinion) fantastic lunches and dinners, we moved abroad 3 years or so ago. We recently returned to the UK for the first time since we left and made sure that our last lunch in the UK would be at... more

We have been to Gravetye Manor several times through the years and have always found it enchanting. This time, it was different. The gardens are as always, stunningly beautiful. A real pleasure to walk through. The decor all through the Manor is in great need of a face lift. The carpets on the stairs are worn. There is also a... more
