Arrived 7.45pm asked for a pint and glass of wine gave my credit card and table number to gent behind the bar, no problem. Sat at table with my wife and began to look at menu after 5 mins decided our dinner order, as we were putting the menu down the waitress informed us " To Busy No More "... More

Staying here over the Christmas holidays, room comfortable and quirky, the floors are all uneven due to the age of the place, but adds to the charm. Breakfast was fine, they ran out of some items but did their best, did not go hungry. Did not try and evening meal but the menu looks good. Nice selection of drinks in... More

We had our fingers crossed that our bargain weekend break would be a genuine good deal and that we wouldn't be tucked away in a cupboard below the stairs. The reality was so much better than we could have hoped for and the superior room we were given was cosy and clean and beautifully warm on our arrival. The comfort... More

Wanted to take an elderly aunt out to lunch to celebrate her birthday. Pub was supposed to be good, but service was appallingly slow 2 hours for one course and the sirloin of beef was more like bisket. Very disappointed!

Just been for Sunday lunch. It took over an hour to rustle up basic pub grub. When we chased it the manager looked at us like we were the idiots in the wrong??? No apology offered never mind an explanation!!!! I suspect it was because they were over cooking the food??? Even the rest of the floor staff were embarrassed.

Comfortable room (on the small side, but then we were getting a very good deal for room and breakfast off their website), king size bed, decent shower/bath. The bar and restaurant feel welcoming, there's a permanent deal on a set menu for the value minded, and the food, particularly the breakfast, was pretty good on the whole - although the... More

Great place to stay for a couple of nights whilst house hunting in the area. Bed was very comfy and enormous; we were in room 9. Hot breakfast was great but the lack of yoghurts both mornings was disappointing. Impressed that decaff coffee was available though!

A fairly uninspiring average menu, but priced appropriately. I had a rare sirloin that was cooked correctly, but my friend had a burger which was quite overcooked and dry so a little disappointing. A good atmosphere for a Friday evening, and friendly, efficient staff. Would return and try something different from the menu, as it's convenient.

Towel rail had been out of use for nearly a year, shower curtain was un describable , cleaning behind the toilet was poor, indeed toilet was very difficult to flush. Bath had badly ingrained stains. Lamp plug point hanging off, not working and dangerous. Customers sat outside talking loudly until gone midnight! However the bed was wonderfully comfortable.

Stayed overnight for a business meeting. The hotel is owned by Greene king and was suprised to find it quite 'upmarket'. Had a premium room which was comfortable and well furnished. The pub- restuarant adjacent was fairly busy for a Wednesday evening and food and prices quite reasonable. Only complaint was my bath was badly stained. Would reccomend
