Absolutely terrible place to stay I wouldn't let my dog stay there. How can a B &B in this century not have a shower in the room or in a bathroom that you can use they only have a dirty bath 😷 I will never stay here again although the food was good.

I had to work away in the little town of Towecster. I came accross the Brave Old Oak and approached the staff member behind the bar called Matther Cooper. He gave me a price for the room which included breakfast. My company booked me in for 3 nights and i arrived friday evening. There was a lovely cosy friendly atmosphere... More

The Brave Old Oak was a good find. Whilst travelling a lot for work I stay all over, and what you want is a nice, clean room, a nearby pub with a decent menu and a good night's sleep. The oak has a variety of rooms, from a large triple bed with ensuite bathroom and lots of space down to... More

I like to go here as a meeting place as there are lots of places to sit and friendly bar staff. I occasionally here but not too keen on the menu. Portions sizes are very big, can rarely finish a meal. The drinks are more expensive here than some other pubs but the food is very cheap. Lots of outside... More

We really enjoy the food and atsmophere at the Brave Old Oak and go every 2 months or so. The prices are reasonable and we have had nice meals but they have also messed us around with kitchen closing times. They usually stop serving food at 8pm, one evening I called ahead to confirm this and we arrived at 7.40... More

Only stopped off for lunch here but was pleasantly surprised ( given some previous reviews.) The pub was warm and clean with an olde world atmosphere despite the pool table, which was set back in its own space. The beer was well kept, prices were very reasonable and the coffee was nice and in a generous sized cup. Staff were... More

As reasonably seasoned travellers across the UK we can say without reservation, this is one of the worst places we have ever stayed and would implore anyone not to make the same mistake. The pub itself looks quite reasonable from the roadside and it is only when you go inside you discover this place has little or no charm or... More

This pub is fine if you're not too fussy, and I'm apparantly not. Yes, the bathroom walls and woodwork could do with a clean but it's a really old building and I'm sure it would be a nightmare to keep it clean, and the actual bath, toilet, etc are cleaned regularly. There's still no lock on the door of the... More

Stayed here on Saturday 21st July 2012 to see Adam Ant play at the Silverstone car festival. Ideal location (about 10 min drive from the circuit), free parking, great breakfast, and nice friendly staff. Good pint too.
