My hubby & I were travelling to a family BBQ in Raunds, so booked 2 nights so 'no drinking & driving' We arrived very late in the evening & were greeted politely & went to our twin room (no. 17) on the ground floor. Adequate size but very drab & 'retro 70's/80's decoration' Nothing like the promotional pictures on their... More

We had a post Christmas group meal at the Columbia Hotel Restaurant on Saturday 18th January 2014. 46 persons were at the meal. The meal was very good. We had a nice vegetable soup starter, served with warm bread rolls, followed by a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The portions were very good; the meat portion especially was quite... More

A party of 14 of us went for a Christmas dinner at the hotel and had a lovely time. We had our own beautifully decorated room and one large table. The food was wonderful, the staff very helpful and it was a lovely evening. This is the second year running we have been and will be returning. At the end... More

Like the previous review before mine I booked this hotel as I was down there for the F1. The hotel was in a very rough part of town, but we still held out some hope for the hotel. It seemed very dated and if I'm being honest is definitely not worth the money we paid. It was a small room.... More

Let me say that we weren't expecting much from this hotel as it was a cheap option for a room during the F1 The owner Pauline is a nice lady and seems to do everything in the hotel, the breakfast was really nice too but those are about the only positives i'm afraid Decor is very dated with peeling wallpaper,... We stayed here for 1 night in March a party of 9 and although the decor is dated it is a clean and extremely warm hotel - I have never stayed in a warmer place - Pauline the manager is very friendly and helpful - we were going to walk into town to eat but the rain was that bad... More

This hotel was booked via an internet booking site and when arrived, the room had not been reserved by the hotel and was found a room in an alternative hotel . Booked to stay at the Columbia as friends had booked there so put a damper on the weekend. I stayed there a few years ago and had the same... More
