Just had a great weekend away for my wife's birthday, stayed in room 24 the mews room which had recently been refurbished, large bathroom with large shower. Had evening meal Friday and Saturday which was very nice. Staff at this hotel are very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Large car park right outside our room. Location of hotel... More

Excellent two days stay. Staff friendly and efficient. Food; good size portions with varied menu. The bar and restaurant had a good ambience and was reasonably priced. Free WiFi included. Bedroom large with good outlook. The Hotel was being refurbishing but this didn't spoil our stay. Good central point for seeing the area with a few small Market Towns to... More

Met friends from the South of England for a general catch up and to discuss our next holidays together. We only stayed one night but thoroughly enjoyed the experience, We had a wonderful evening meal and a good traditional breakfast. The only downside to me was the lighting in the bar was very intimate ( it was quite dark )... More

We have just come back from a five night stay with our fourteen year old daughter. We had rooms next to each other which were both decorated and maintained to a very high level. The staff as usual very very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The service was great especially in the restaurant where over the... More

A traditional hotel, offering comfortable rooms, good food and attentive staff in a convenient central location for the North Yorks Moors and Yorkshire a Dales. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning in the Spring en masse for a family break. If you appreciate traditional quality accommodation this may well be ideal.

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a couple of nights away for some rest and relaxation and I could think of nowhere better than this beautiful old and full of character hotel which just oozes charm. I first found this wonderful little hotel just over 30 years ago and have stayed there on many occasions & at... More

We stayed here last weekend, we booked a double and twin rooms. The twin room overlooked the market place and was beautifully decorated and big, however the double was a bit small and dated overlooking the fire escape right at the back of the hotel. The bedroom was lovely warm but the bathroom was freezing with a gale blowing through... More

Ok. Before I write the review, let's take a look at some of the numbers. We stayed on a Sunday evening in October. The clocks had just leapt backwards, it was getting dark at five o clock and the temperature was starting to drop. A spotlessly clean, heated, serviced &laundered room for two with breakfast for sixty quid; I don't know... More
