I stayed at St. James House because I wanted to see the World of James Harriot museum in Thirsk. The B&B is in a beautiful heritage home and decorated with very pretty and charming antiques. It is very clean and very safe, within easy walking distance of the town square and restaurants and the museum. It's about a 30 min... More

We had an unexpected stay and though they were full; Barry the loveliest of B&B owner's you are ever likely to meet, went beyond the call of duty for us so we could stay for our meeting in Thirsk the next morning. Waking up in a beautiful Georgian House to the sound of the town clock chime gently through this... More

It is so good to be back in Thirsk at St James house with host barry. We have been coming for 15-20 years and everything is the same . Great location, good parking, excellent ground floor room and the charm of Barry. And top that off with a very good full English breakfast. Thirsk is James Herriott's town and is... More

We stayed there for 5 days: a very cosy and nice place (have a look at the fornitures...), a great landlord and a lovely cat. It's a good base for exploring the North Moors and the Dales, York and the coast.
