Certainly easy to locate, The Three Tuns Inn is right in the heart of Thirsk; on the corner of the market square. There is a small, free car park at the rear (entrance is via the small driveway to the left of the hotel) or you can park in the square (free for the first hour and overnight, otherwise a... More

Only flat surface in room is the window sill with kettle ext on it, but there's room for a bench seat, luggage rack or small table. Bath overflow is smaller than the hot-tap flow, so 20 secs from a flood disaster. Windows lightly frosted & no curtain in toilet/bathroom, so act of faith that there's no window opposite to be... We booked two nights at the venue as a base for taking a trip to Whitby on the North York Moors Railway. The room we booked was on the top floor and although basic was clean and more than adequate for our needs . The bed was extremely comfortable and the room had a front view over a busy market... Booked a room for a stay over after the races.... I had phoned ahead to request to be able to check in early due to races starting at 2....on arrival at 12 we were informed our room was ready....big thanks for that. Had a great stay in a very nice room with a "Large" bath....and lovely soft bed. P.S....have a... More

Family room clean and practical but way too stuffy - only ventilation was a desk fan and windows only opened 2 inches. Asked for another fan but staff could not find one. Family room for 2+2 children was only 1 double and a sofa bed - good job we only have 2 small children. Bathroom tiny. Asked for extra towels... More

Great price, great size room, big roomy bathroom with quirky sloping floor, good facilities in room, roomy bed and great food in pub. If I have to find anything to complain about then the only thing was a lack of a shelf in the bathroom to puf our toiletries!! Will definately stay there again in the future.

I would recommend this hotel which is ideally placed to explore North Yorkshire English Heritage and National Trust sites. Very helpful staff. Excellent room. Very clean and comfortable and we only had to go downstairs for a night out in a pub with plenty of atmosphere, good food and friendly staff

Got short straw this room has constant noise from boiler room and pumps next door. DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to sleep. Hotel is tired and though food a JDs is normally OK both our steaks had to go back as pale on the surface and raw inside. I was told they have 27 microwaves in the kitchen... More

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed at, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, very clean, and food was fantastic exceptional value for money. We will definitely be staying at the Three Tuns again.

You're probably thinking "A Wetherspoon's Hotel?" and you wouldn't be alone with that thought. But, it was a last minute trip and our options were limited, so "needs must when the devil drives". Can I just say from the outset, the layout of the Hotel is confusing if you've never been before. There are corridors & stairs everywhere & the... More
