Philip and Nicky made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The log fires created a copy atmosphere and the meals in the restaurant were of a 5 star standard. Our room was on the small side but was spotlessly clean, well equipped and the bed was comfortable. We will certainly use this hotel again in the future.

Lovely warm welcome for myself, son, his family and my dog Poppy. Very comfortable accommodation and cosy and warm on a cold night. Breakfast tasty and lots of 'glutton free' choices for daughter in law and granddaughter. Well done!

We stayed here for a night , and i have to say i would highly recommend Old Forge Hotel and restaurant for a short break away. Philip and Nicky were extremley welcoming , and made sure we had everything we needed. Although the rooms were cold , despite the heating being on, we had a fan heater in the room... More

A pleasant place to stay whilst visiting friends and family in that area. Although only rated as a two star hotel ,the food is worthy of 5 stars as the chef takes great pride in the selection of meats and fish and even greater pride in its cooking and presentation..

This was a last minute booking and it was explained that they were unable to provide an evening meal over the 2 evenings due to a 90th birthday and a family celebration. We fully accepted this and agreed to B&B. However despite being very busy on the Saturday night they provided us with an excellent evening meal. Breakfasts were very... More

An excellent family-run hotel in beautiful East Sussex. A very welcoming atmosphere, great rooms, comfortable beds, and delicious food. And all great value for the price. Don't bother looking for another hotel -- book now, your money will be well spent !

My mum, dad two sisters (one with a toddler) stayed here almost two years ago when I got married. They loved it. Food was divine, and the hosts couldn't do enough to ensure all were happy. My father was over from Oz again recently and we were on our way back from visiting family in Hastings, desperate for something to... More

This small but excellent hotel has a tremendous charm. Our room (Beech) was more than adequate for our needs, plenty of space, en-suite, TV, tea & coffee etc. overlooking the road, we didn't experance any disturbance from traffic. Having just returned from our daughters wedding in Italy, we needed a place to "crash out" and relax to enjoy our anniversary.... More

We chose this hotel on recommendation from trip advisor as we were two couples visiting steam railways in the area. Great food, the rooms are small but adequate. (The twin is very small). There are a lot of rules upon arrival. Please be aware of check check in times - not before 4pm. There are set evening meal times and... More

I stayed at the Olde Forge for three nights, to attend a conference at Herstmonceux Castle nearby (worth a visit, even just a walk in the gardens, if you are in the area). My room was really comfortable, very clean and well equipped, with complementary drinks/biscuits. Even it was a front room, there was very little noise coming from the... More
