For anyone who wants to stay at the lifeboat but can't get a booking or find it too expensive, the Old coach house is not only a great alternative, but a lovely place to stay also, it's surprisingly quiet despite being on the coast road, and the food is a very high standard without costing an arm and a leg,... more

We booked the Old Coach House at short notice as the sister hotel,The Lifeboat was fully booked and we wished to take our dog. On arrival we had to check in at The Lifeboat, where we were given our keys and told we could go to our room. On arrival our room was not ready at the stated time and... more

Four of us plus a toddler stayed at the Old Coach house, as we couldn't get into the Lifeboat. The two rooms we booked were tired and shabby. Hard beds, one with springs almost sticking through the mattress; a broken bedside lamp shade hanging off , black mould around the basin and shower! !, numerous dead flies and dust. No... more

This 17th century coaching inn was in a queit and quaint little village of Thornham perfect for that get away from it all break. Unfortunately the room we stayed in on the first two nights was noisy because noise from the car park and patrons leaving the premises was deflected into our room and although the window was double glazed... more

Like several other reviewers we ended up here when the Lifeboat was fully booked. As it was described as the sister hotel and is owned by the same group we thought it would be ok.It wasn't particularly cheap at £114 per night for one room and £106 for the second with no reduction for our young son. You have to... more

I spent much of December in Norfolk and more specifically Thornham. We were looking for somewhere to go with my sister and her three children. We were advised to go to the Coach House as it offered “something for everyone”. That was very true as the children ate fantastic looking and tasting pizza’s while the adults ate home made pies... more

My wife and I wanted a quick and cheap weekend break and booked the Old Coach House at Thornham in Norfolk. The Old Coach House rooms are managed by the Lifeboat Inn about 5 - 10 Mins away. The room was OK in size and clean if a little basic. The location was good for this area of Norfolk. I'm... more

To be perfectly honest with you, I had doubts about booking my boyfriend and I into the Old Coach House. The 4 reviews that I had read on Trip Advisor made it sound old fashioned, noisy, cramped, and uncomfortable. We had visited Thornham a few times and enjoyed meals at the Orange Tree, just up the road from the Old... more
