Pulled up in the overgrown car park avoiding the dead rabbit to enter a shabby restaurant with tables not cleared and dreadful service. The food we had was very poor certainly not to the standard of marco pierre white. Would not recommend at all probably one if the worst experiences I have ever had.

Good accommodation better than previous reviews suggest. The rooms could do with an jupdate, particularly the shower room. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant in the evening the breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, overall a pleasant weekend

Perhaps Marco Pierre White thinks his name alone is enough to get custom through the door and I suppose in some respects this may have been why myself & friends (three other adults and two children) ventured over the threshold. In hindsight we should have been astute enough to pay more attention to the fact that no one was seated... More

Very friendly staff. Starters lovely with great pizza bread. Good steak but sadly completely tasteless pasta with meatballs. Didn't taste even slightly Italian! Just felt like chef had used bottled tomato sauce........ Ambience quite nice and if you have a cushion the benches don't feel quite so uncomfortable. It would probably be good for families with small children as pizzas... More

How can a 'name' like Marco Pierre White be proud to condone food no better than your average neighbourhood family restaurant? Bedroom cramped, bathroom tired and tiny. Staffed by young slightly disinterested amateurs. Wine list looked good but 25% unavailable, but as it turned out, no problem ,because the food wasn't up to much.

Bland and old fashioned, disappointing food. I've had carbonara in lots of Italian restaurants and this was the worst. Service was quick and efficient but we expected more from a Marco Pierre White restaurant. There are plenty of better places at similar or better prices to eat along this stretch of the coast. Don't waste your money!

For a start, this is now The Chequers Inn, which is not updated on either Trip advisor or Booking.com which is really confusing for people booking and trying to find the pub. The pub has supposedly been completely re-decorated inside with new furniture and colour scheme. We read the views online before booking and assumed all renovation work had been... More

We stayed here for two nights in July and had a really good weekend. The property has been renamed 'The Chequers' and now advertises itself as a Marco Pierre White pub and restaurant. Maybe because of the high expectations associated with this brand, people have been disappointed with the furnishings and quality of food. It is certainly not luxury, but... More

we booked this night away through booking.com and got what we thought was a reasonable price for bed and breakfast, having read the Old Coach house site it all sounded pretty good .....we arrived in Thornham and drove up and down the road several times that our tom tom had taken us too, we ended up asking a local resident...
