We stayed at another hotel in the group but decided to dine here. We booked and were seated in the restaurant. The bar looked more fun but was packed and noisy so we probably had the better option. The choice was very good, I had whitebait which I expected to come with brown bead and butter As soon as I... More

I was a like wary of going to The Lifeboat based on some of the reviews We had a lovely meal, well cooked, tasty food and the portions are huge. I would sit in the bar rather than the conservatory area which for very loud If you are thinking of going here then do the did was great

On a walking holiday along the Norfolk coastal path we stayed here in beautiful comfortable, spacious rooms, with lovely hot baths to ease the aching limbs, followed by an excellent dinner. The good night's sleep was a good preparation for the next day's walk as was the delicious breakfast. Wishing that we were staying another night we walked on to... More

I thought MPW was a renowned chef! I have always enjoyed meals at The Lifeboat Inn previously however on this occasion I was very disappointed with the food. Nice fish but swimming in fat placed on top of cold chips, 3 times cooked apparently! The waiter did offer to replace the chips but I'd lost my appetite. I think Mr.MPW... More

If you are looking for a quiet, close to the sea but away from the crowds, this is the place! We were on a short break to see Holkam Hall and the Norfolk coast and upon recommendation from a family member, booked here (in advance). From the moment the phone was answered, I knew I had found the perfect country... More

We stayed for 2 nights as we wanted to explore the North Norfolk coast by bike and The Lifeboat Inn had been recommended to us as a good base ,which it was. Our room was OK although the decor did look like it was only half finished - different coloured paints on the walls and the doors looked like they... More

We visited last weekend for supper. Friendly staff welcomed us and the menu was simple but expensive. Owned by the Pierre White stable we thought that the food would be wonderfully cooked, justifying the price. Unfortunately one of the dishes came with cold mash and the wrong pie, which was quickly changed. That was fine but the food was really... More

Great base for visiting North Norfolk BUT food was not as we expected. The pie for example had a flat raw pastry topping, awful. Our room (10) was nice and modern but had a large patch of mould by the window and walls seemed paper thin.

Went for a birthday lunch on 9 July. Very disappointing. Went into conservatory, no staff around so sat down at a table only to be told that it was reserved, no sign on table. Moved onto another table. One of our party ordered oysters and asked for tobacco sauce which never arrived so ate without. Three of us ordered haddock... More

Had a great stay here in July for 3 nights. Excellent food (although not the cheapest), lovely room and homed our dog too. Breakfast is superb with lots of choice. Good mid-week deal. Staff efficient, and nice; they become more friendly as the stay lengthens. Lady that looks after breakfast was great. Recommended all round.
