I stayed in the Railway Carriage and was actually slightly disappointed. The carriage is much smaller than the pictures on the internet perceive it to be. I asked to be moved back to the Hoste for our second night. Check in for the Carriage wasn't really explained that well, the front door to the building looks like it's someone else's... More

If you are in idyllic Norfolk you want to have a place with a nice view onto the countryside. The Railway House (part of the Hoste) hotel is ok and the rooms are clean and nice refurbished but they were damp and small and the BIG downside was the awful location and view onto the parking lot (also not great... The railway carriage was just lovely, cosy, and special. But the main inn/hotel really didn’t impress. At check-in the whole set-up at the Railway inn wasn’t properly explained, we didn’t really know how to get into our room (totally obvious once in the main door but could have been pointed out to save us wandering around trying various doors and... This was our fourth visit to the Hoste Arms in Burnham Market (staying in the rooms at The Railway Inn which is about a ten minute walk from the main hotel) and based on our latest visit and new pricing structure it will be the last time we stay. This is a real shame. Having sat down for our inclusive... More

Be aware that the Railway Inn is a 5-10 minute walk from The Hoste; this wasn't a problem for us but something we weren't made aware of when we booked through The Hoste. Our room simply had no thought put into it. The wardrobe door only opened partially as it was blocked by the entrance door's opening mechanism, the room... More

A last minute night away resulted in the booking of the Railway Carriage, how lucky were we! Having stayed in a few hotels now, this is the first stay that has prompted feedback on trip advisor. The Railway Carriage is stunning and for those that fancy a change from a room definately give this a try, extra heaters and fans... More

Burnham Market is a beautiful town with amazing shops and beautiful surrounding coastline. We stayed in the Railway Inn midweek which included free half board. We ate at the Hoste which was amazing and an absolute bargain! The oysters and steaks are the best we've ever eaten! The Railway Inn is the lesser of the 3 hotels but still very... More

Good two night stay in August, staying in room 43 of the Railway inn. Nice room, spoilt a little by the tiny bathroom and a couple of irritating elements and attention to detail, in particular the clashing of the wardrobe door against the main door closing mechanism plus the water pipe noise from the room above when they used their... My wife and I stayed for a weekend. The room was great the building was lovely, the parking was not ideal and you have to walk to the Hoste arms for your breakfast and other meals - about a half mile walk. Other than that it was great, lots of little shops and places to explore in and around Burnham... More

My wife was aproaching her 50th birthday, and since you only reach your half-century once, I wanted to give her a "Wow Factor" experience. The converted Victorian Railway carriage was everything that I hoped for - including antique furniture and fittings, brass bedstead, loads of sumptuous velvet, and a huge LCD TV. An amazing two-night stay included excellent meals (1... More

Sitting on the old railway tracks, the original railway carriage has been cleverly converted into a romantic, cosy retreat for two with a stunning copper basin, walk in shower and luxurious fabrics. Guests enjoy breakfast at The Hoste, just an eight minute stroll away. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided in each room.
