Been coming here on and off for the 20 years that we have been living in Norfolk, never disappointed us ever, its been up and down but currently its just great, the food is what everyone wants to eat, , good calves liver , Cromer crabs and a really decent veggie main, good wine list , pleasant and very quick... We're regulars here so obviously this review is going to be biased. But, the reason that we're regulars is that The Saracens Head never lets us down. The food is consistently excellent while the service is always polite & friendly. The menu is full of great choices with good local produce and imaginative vegetarian options. We are spoilt for choice... More

Popped in with my wife for dinner a few weeks ago now whilst we were holidaying in Norfolk. The food was ok, the area around the restaurant is beautiful to visit. The staff were lovely, particularly our waitress who was very attentive, friendly and also very witty, she even made my wife laugh! Through a great coincidence we saw her... More

Just had sunday lunch here. The food came quickly and was very nice but possibly a bit overpriced for what we had. The deserts were obviously homemade which is brilliant , The brownie was warm and tasty if a bit dry. Try some cream. There was a smart young lad waiting very efficiently but although very friendly and congenial we felt... More

We came to Saracen's Head to meet up with family together with our two young children. It is pretty much in the middle of nowhere but the house and garden are beautiful. I would go out of my way to get to this place. The owners of Saracen's Head were amazing and brilliant with our children. They went out of... More

Have eaten here many times over the last 2 years, whenever i'm in the area.Have yet to be disappointed. There's always a great locally sourced menu, fresh fish always cooked well and very good service. It's not expensive for the quality either.

We last stayed at the Saracens Head ten years ago and decided to go back as we had enjoyed it so much. Just a word on location. This B&B, cum pub, cum restaurant is on its own about a quarter of a mile from anywhere / anyone else. Its a really quiet and serene location. Now to the building itself.... More

We live nearby in Aylsham and took friends from London for dinner. We all absolutely loved it. The pre-dinner drinks in the rear courtyard, the menu and the very reasonably priced but excellent rose wine all made for a really great evening out. Even the restaurant rooms are different and cosy and make for a great atmosphere. A great evening.

Lying in bed in our room under the eaves of the Saracen's Head a few days ago, we heard our first cuckoo for many years, calling from the woodland opposite. It's a very special place, very quiet and rural, but sought out by those in the know for its excellent food (much of which is locally sourced) and ambiance. There... More
