We stayed for 2 nights in a dinner, B&B deal after moving inland from Burnham Market (see Hoste Arms review). We hadn't originally planned to stay here for our November Norfolk sojourn, but our first booking in the area was cancelled due to illness of the host and we were forced to find an alternative. What a glorious happenstance for... more

I have never written a review on Tripadvisor before but having just returned from the Saracens Head, felt i had to. I made a booking to take my 80 year old mum away for a 2 day break. The lovely lady on the phone (Rachel) explained that the only twin room was on the top level and might be a... more

Totally agree with the positive reviews on here. This place is a total one-off. Huge amounts of character and colour (staff as well as decor); it's the antithesis of beigeness and minimalism, and hooray for that. Wonderfully relaxing. Food is as good as others have described, and not they're not afraid to offer unusual but not outlandish dishes (though I... more

I echo the other reviews here. We had a memorable stay. We appreciated the very warm welcome from Rachel. The food was absolutely delicious and very creative. I loved my 'burnt' halloumi, pear and creme fraiche starter. Our room was colourful, a real change from the many 'beige' places we have stayed in. A real treat. more

Yes, the food is outstanding, the rooms large and eclectically furnished and the building elegant and distinctive in a shabby chic style. But what really lifts this establishment above the opposition is the five star customer service rather more redolent of bygone times. Nothing is too much trouble for the proprietors Robert and his daughter Rachel and, along with their... more

We stayed for two nights dinner bed and breakfast (2 adults and 2 kids) listened to reviews on here and checked out Saracen,s website.True to form this place delivers and well what a hidden gem it is.True its for sale but definately not a going concern. Roberts cooking is first class as are his subtle political jokes and teasing of... more

Hidden away in North Norfolk but worth the search. Actually easy with SATNAV and just off the A140 a few miles short of the coast. Exceptional service and amazing innovative local food cooked by a chef who really cares. The food is worth the trip alone but the hotel rooms just add to the unique environment which is the Saracens... more

What a unique and marvellous place this is: quirky, with charming hosts, truly wonderful food and an atmosphere that made us feel like we were staying in a country house. Our room was cosy, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we could have asked for. We enjoyed the warmest of welcomes, amazing hospitality and kindness, felt like we'd stepped into... more

Had been told by friends we must stay and eat here - and they were right! This place is such a find, so relaxing, a bit like your own country house retreat, fabulous food, wine and staff. This place is completely unique! more
