Had a lovely stay with the wife here. Nice bedroom, the bathroom wasn't very big, but you're not living in the bathroom and this isn't the London Hilton, its a small town hotel, don't expect so much! We signed in at the bar and a very friendly young lady showed us to the room. We had an excellent meal in... More

My wife and I stayed at the Red Lion for Halloween night to visit Matlock Bath for the illuminations and firework display. We arrived at about 2.30 of the afternoon to find access to the car park blocked by the owners vehicle. Once inside the pub we were shown to our room by a very pleasant young girl who asked... More

We stayed at the Red Lion for 2 days. It was great to have a place to park, and the room was fine, although the bathroom was small. I hate en-suites anyway, there's no privacy. Went down to the bar for a drink & tried to get a Wi-Fi connection without success. A man came over and took my phone... More

We visited for a meal on a quiet Monday evening, but we received a lovely welcome, the staff were very friendly and the service was good. I had chilli which was excellent just the right amount of spices for me. Lovely cosy place to enjoy a meal.

Amazing 18th century coaching inn, well preserved and located perfectly for the start of our romantic escapade in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Staff was more then welcoming and accomodating, giving us tips for where to start our adventure next day. Special thanks go the owner, Peter, who cooked us a hearty and yummy full english breakfast, to Jan the housekeeper... More

In a nice location in the Peak District, and a nice pub, but the bed is VERY soft and the extractor fan outside the window is VERY noisy!!!! Ear plugs are supplied, which I suppose should have warned me. The bathroom was very nice and sparkly but very small. Breakfast was okay but the sausages were of the very cheap... More

A good Hotel to stay at. The bedroom was clean with towels and bedding. Tea and coffee good. Breakfast was good with ample choice. Not the Ritz. The staff very helpful and could not fault the service. Worth the stay and the price good value.

I choose this hotel from the website. The rooms looked nice for a good price, and the menu sounded really good. Unfortunately what we found was the complete opposite. The room was nice, although it was very loud being at the front of the hotel and there was damp causing the wallpaper to bubble. The bathroom was tiny, barely being... More

We stayed for a night with another family visiting friends. The family rooms were already booked when we called, but the owners let us put extra beds in the rooms. Lovely rooms, really comfortable beds, great tea & coffee facilities and an extensive breakfast. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We would happily stay again.
