My wife and I were on a short break in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales and chose Rockingham Lodge because it was central to the area we planned to visit. We are quite selective when choosing a place to stay and this commences with the initial inquiry and the host's response. Gill was most helpful in every detail of our inquiry... More

We can confirm what most of the previous guests are saying: that if you stay at Rockingham Lodge you will receive a friendly welcome, a warm, clean and spacious room with en suite, tea and coffee making facilities and TV if you have time to watch it. Room 4 had a comfortable Super Kingsize bed and there was no noise... More

We had a lovely stay here on the bank holiday weekend. We were warmly welcomed, despite arriving early when the family were on their way out to the village food festival. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. There was a good tea and coffee tray with bottled water and biscuits in the room, toiletries in the... More

Arriving early "season" the Lodge provided a warm, welcoming shelter from the cold. We had some snow while there!. The room we had was gorgeous,a big comfy bed,tea/coffee facilities in the room and a usefull info pack. The hosts were pleasant and helpfull. Our only problem was due to the time of year the George pub had stopped serving food by... More

If you are thinking of staying at Rockingham Lodge there is something very important you should know. Your host - Gill - is super kind, helpful, lovely. . .just plain awesome. You see, I was never meant to stay here but instead found myself stranded by snow, with no spare stuff, just the clothes on my back. Frightened by having... More

We stayed for 3 nights, made to feel very welcome, lovely breakfast each morning, a very large comfortable bed & once you'd used your glasses to read the symbols on the shower (in what looked like a new en-suite) it worked fine. The village also has plenty of places to eat, drink & wander in the evening.
