Stopped here for food after a day in Alton towers, we were welcomed very warmly, we all had various meals which were nice & plentiful. I also have to mention the lemon cheesecake.....best I've ever had, home cooked and perfect!! The grounds are large and has a play park for children. It even has a little gift shop.

Booked here for 2 nights last week end but only stayed the first one. If you don't like dogs then don't come here. Firstly the rooms smelt musty and there wasn't a proper shower. We sat in the bar on the Saturday and very soon it began to fill with dogs. Everyone that came in had at least 1 dog.... More

Not very nice rooms and food not great but people seem very nice here. Big breakfast with lots of choice. Evening meal expensive and fairly average but service very good. Not very easy to get to on bike. More of the sort of place you stop with your family in your SUV with Labrador in tow

Perfect location for our trip to Alton Towers! Lovely rooms, clean and plenty of space for us and our three dogs! Friendly Staff! Restaurant menu a little limited but food was great! Breakfast was superb! Dogs made very welcome in the bar! Wifi limited to main building but that's just the area! Will definitely use again! Thank you Sharon &... More

stayed here in the family room, it was OK..no more than that, our room smelt of damp but once we opened the windows and the front door it was OK< maybe they should have done this before we checked in as the smell was very strong. its not really a country inn, more like a pub with a load of... Lovely homely feel to the place, with all the staff friendly and made us feel welcome. The hostess made our experience that much more special even if she did make fun of us she could take as well as give and we knew it was just a joke. Lovely rooms, amazing food and a truly beautiful place to stay. The... More

Popped in on the way back to the campsite after a day out for some beer and some food. Myself and my other half were pleasantly surprised as we were expecting pub grub but it turned out to be the niceset meal either of us had had in ages. I had a whole rainbow trout, cooked wonderfully and my other... More

Stayed here for one night through Amazon Local we paid £89 for the room with a three course Al a Carte meal and breakfast. The place itself is ten mins from Alton Towers, Ilam Park and Dovedale and 25 mins from Matlock Bath. It provided us with a great base to explore the local area. Upon arrival staff were friendly... Basic family room, was warm and welcoming. Bathroom was average, but did exactly what it needed to. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, goes above and beyond most places I've stayed in the past. The surroundings are lovely, and it's so easy to get to Alton Towers from here, perfect location Very happy with our stay,... More
