We were the first guests under the 'new management ', who had only just taken over the property. They were very friendly straight from the moment we arrived. It's an old house with huge rooms, which can be a little cold in mid winter, but should not detract from the character, the bed was comfy and warm and a huge... More

Please don't even consider staying here it's absolutely terrible. The photos are old and it's like a derelict building now. It's the worst place you could imagine and even builders and contractors moved out to where we moved to as we couldn't stay which speaks volumes. How it's got stars is unbelievable and it's not upto date apparently according to... More

This could be a lovely place and the setting is gorgeous and there are great walks for dogs around and about - I had a glorious early morning walk through meadows and woods with my dog. But. It was advertised as dog friendly but when we got there, the owner presumed we would leave our dog to sleep in the... More

I really enjoyed the novelty of staying in a property with such history. The dining room and music room are very nice with an atmosphere of history. The rooms are quite old fashioned but that's what one would expect with such a property. My room was clean. Breakfast was good, I pre-ordered the night before which I think is a... More

Great for dogs you can walk out the door and they have the run of about three hectacres of grounds. The accomadation was basic but clean, with two dogs though it is to be expected. Breakfast was amazing in the large dining room with as much extras as you could possibly want and the owners wanted to do their best... More

On arrival, which you must make sure it is after 17.30pm as there might not be anyone there. Usually you get a front door key and a room key, not in this case the owner opens and locks the door behind you. He did not know if i was in for breakfast etc. I did not see any fire alarms... More

I was only one night, but I found a nice and quiet place with a nice yard in a house with history. The rooms are large but may need better insulation in the windows, let in a little air in the room. The service is very attentive and friendly. The dining room is awesome!
