Having now stayed in both Gin and Orchard cottages I felt the need to share my experience. Horsleygate hall is a purely wonderful setting for a relaxing, beautiful retreat with amazing surroundings. The cottages are both unique with a homely feel to them with an amazing community of chickens pottering around the outside. We were happy to relax in the... More

Lovely place to stay even in the winter (but unfortunately unable to make use of the attractive patio areas). Comfortable and quiet. Good base for discovering the upper Peak District and the Derwent valley, although some places were closed until Easter - Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell Museum and Eyam Museum. Melanie and team were very informative and welcoming.

Orchard Cottage is a delightful barn conversion with all the space that a couple need downstairs and a 'bedroom' in the hayloft. It has its quirks (like an elderly Rayburn cooker that gurgles away rather uncontrollably) but it's a warm and comfortable retreat and wonderful to return to after a day's winter walking in the High Peak. Melanie's hospitality is... More

We've just returned from a weekend stay at Orchard Cottage (in the snow!) The cottage is beautifully design & decorated and the location perfect for enjoying the Peak District. Will be recommending to others!

We had a wonderful stay in the apartment. Perfectly positioned for climbing and walking. Melanie couldn't have been more helpful, thank you! So good we've booked for October half term. As beautiful as the Land Mark trust properties we've stayed in with a stunning garden. We would highly recommend Horsleygate gate hall.

We booked a week in the apartment at Horsleygate Hall in May 2014, and extended our stay by two days as we enjoyed it so much. The apartment is comfortable with a homely, spacious feel. Kitchen equipment is of very good quality and there is a good bathroom with a large shower and plenty of hot water. The bedroom is... More

We stayed here on our way up to Leeds to collect our son from 'Uni' as an alternative to staying in Leeds itself. The gardens are absolutely amazing and you are free to wander round and enjoy them. The house itself is absolutely superb with lots of antiques and old bits and pieces. The owners are charming and could not... More

The owners, Robert and Margaret, were friendly and approachable, although a little reserved. Their sweet spaniels were adorable. They mentioned selling up in the next few years as they are getting on a bit - and I think this is reflected in the business. The rooms look a little tired, as if they don't have as much love and care... More

From the time you go through the gates, you feel as though you've entered an enchanted world intoxicating your senses with scents & sights from the flowers to truly transport you to another world. The house, and its occupants - Robert & Margaret, are both warm & welcoming. Their openness to let you explore their exquisite gardens & indulge you... More
