I come here most weekends I am off for Sunday dinner and when they hold special events. The food is nice and the beer is cold, very homely country pub. My 5 year old loves coming for dinner and Angie always has a natter with him. You feel very comfortable and never feel rushed to eat your dinner no matter... More

I stay over at the Crown Inn if I have to stay over at work near Mansfield. It's an old village pub with rooms - so don't expect a identikit hotel. What you do get is olde world charm at a bargain price, a fantastic full English breakfast, friendly chatty owners and a wide selection of top real ales. What... More

Not really clean, no bedside lamps in a twin room, the room hardly big enough for two people, bathroom shabby, tiles wonky, shower curtain needing at least a soak in bleach. At £60 a night a rip off. We left without even trying to find breakfast as all looked closed and in view of the room had no desire to... More

My son and I stayed 3 nights for a cycling break. The location is perfect for cycling the Derbyshire national park trails. The welcome and service were friendly, the room comfortable and adequate, the food very good. All in all our stay was a pleasant experience which we intend to repeat.

The place is lovely and the food was ok not special but a bit on the expensive side and not much choise. The bar staff very freindly but to get more people in get rid off the grumpy, sharp, unfreindly waiting on staff not sure if we will go back.

I appreciate this is a pub b&b and I was only paying pub b&b prices but I still expected more particularly being able to sleep. I stayed for one night the room was small and clean but I was unable to sleep because the walls are very thin and the person in the next room was snoring loudly, I was... More

Very welcoming landlord and landlady, made my solo stop over memorable with a lovely country pub feel, friendly locals and guests, going out of way to accommodate my personal dietary requirements. Accommodation is basic as you'd expect in a pub but cosy I'd highly recommend 😇

Went in here for their carvery,I don't think anyone can grumble for the price, just £6.50 for a Sunday lunch. We thought the choice and food was as good as most carvery 's . The staff were very friendly and helpful. Iv'e paid a lot more for a lot worse. Good meal for the price.

A few months ago we were in the area on a Sunday and wanted lunch. One person in the party was vegetarian but there was no vegetarian option at all. When asked what to eat then it was, well you can have the vegetables of the carvery! At no discount! Thanks a lot. The carvery itself was sub-standard, dry meat,... More
