We spent a couple of nights at the Scotman’s Pack and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable - we had a four poster bed. The manager and staff were very friendly and courteous and the food, particularly from the large specials blackboard, was innovative and delicious, as was the breakfast. It was late November and the... More

I visited here on Sunday and had the best roast lamb I've ever had it's was beautifully cooked, which also had one great tasting Yorkshire pudding. My wife had the gruyere tart which was tasty and the pesto on the new potatoes was a lovely touch, as seen previous somebody thought it was mint sauce! Great all round pub, will... More

Full marks to the manageress who honoured a booking that had been only half made by the person who took it. With very little fuss a table was found for us and we had very professional but also friendly service. Fills a gap in the market between the cheap and cheerful and the pretentious and very expensive. We went twice... More

We have visited this pub on two separate occasions and i must say we love the place. First time in February 2014 when we made numerous visited for drinks and food. Lovely atmosphere and food was excellent, good quality and decent portions. The second time in June 2104 we had drinks which we had outside next to the river. Only... More

We were taken by my Husbands family who had been before. I was expecting the usual pub food but the food here is really good. The best Sea Bass I have had by far. Had a lovely evening in a busy but very comfortable and relaxed pub. Would love to go back and try other meals on the menu. Parking... More

Stayed at the Scotsman's Pack over a weekend from Friday to Monday. My wife and I had a really comfortable stay, and we enjoyed some excellent food, breakfasts and evening meals. The hospitality was warm and friendly with a great atmosphere in the traditional bar. We would not hesitate to recommend the Scotsman's Pack.

Went to the Scotsman's Pack for an evening meal. This is a really nice Old fashioned Country Pub with a great atmosphere. I ordered a Mixed Grill and the 'Co-Pilot' had the Barnsley Chop. I have to say, it has to be the best ever and most filling Mixed grill I have had for a long time. They don't do... More

Called in here having vaguely remembered a pub off the main road and up the steep climb toward Stanage and Higger Tor. Parking was a bit tight but thankfully this was lunch time and we found a convenient parking spot. The welcome was great and the food din't take too long to be delivered to the table when it arrived.... More
