We decided to stay here as we visited a few months ago and had an excellent meal during the day. Decided to come back and stay for a night, not disappointed. Warm welcome on checking in. Had a lovely meal and being a Sunday can recommend the roasts.Room was ideal. Breakfast was also very nice and served promptly.

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst walking in the area. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Lovely bed. The breakfasts were good quality and very filling. Ate in the bar every night food was excellent, Steak & Ale pie and the Steak are recommended. Staff very friendly and helpful Will definitely stay here again

Called for Lunch, Thursday 25th June 2015, our first visit. Press advertising indicated this would be a great place for lunch. On entering the Scotsman's Pack we received a warm and friendly welcome from the young lady behind the bar. The place looked clean and tidy with the tables neatly set out for diners. We had read about the award... More

I am sorry to read that you were less than satisfied with your visit to us at the Scotsmans Pack last week. My husband and I have just returned from a weekend break. The room was newly refurbished and very comfortable. We ate in the bar on Saturday night. My fish and chips were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bar was very busy. We finished our stay with a full English breakfast which was the best we have... More

The last time I was in The Scotsman's Pack was in about 1979 when I was about 8 years old and was with my Gran who lived in Hathersage. My memory then was of good home cooked food and I have to say that's what I got this time again. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they made my... More

Lovely pub positioned at the end of the village in hathersage, Peak District. we had the Scotsman Cream Tea which included a collection of lovely sandwiches, scones, Bakewell pudding, and English tea. Great value and absolutely recommend if you wish to try something authentic in the Peak District.

Great food, friendly staff, clean rooms free wi fi that works fine despite what a previous reviewer thought, it must be an old phone he has. This is a proper pub with a friendly local feel to it. Had two meals, best steak and ale pie I have ever had plus very good value meals. A bit of a gastro pub without... More

Having made the Cardinal Error of staying at the Littlejohn last year (see my review) and only having a lunch here, we had firmly decided to base the whole trip here this year. No mistake. Beer brilliantly kept, food decisively above average, wine delicious and sensibly priced, all the staff really nice, the room provided everything we needed, the breakfast... More
