Popped in during a bike ride of the dales for some truly excellent tea and cake, enjoyed on the outside seating which overlooked an incredible view of the scenery. Prices are very reasonable - £2.25 for a slice of cake and £1.25 each for tea. Definitely worth popping in here, especially if you're cycling around the area. I did not... More

We used the B&B as a stop over from Doncaster on the Trans Pennine Trail. Very easy to find and a short uphill ride from the trail. Very welcoming owners helped us to wash our bikes and dry our things (soaking wet and very muddy). Use of a drying room overnight was a godsend. Bikes stored in an outhouse room... More

After a 76 mile bike ride along the Trans pennine trail this place was s very welcome site. Mad to feel welcome straight away. 6 of us stayed in the bunkhouse 3 in each room. Very spacious and warm . As we arrived late tea could not be provided, however a lift into town could for a small fee. Slept sound... More

We nipped in and the service was second to none, the cake was so good and coffee was lovely... Amazing views... Very cheap too. Did not stay so cannot vouch for the rooms but bases on the service we received we would definitely stay

Our first visit here. Lovely grounds and location to die for, great outside seating over looking the valley and resovoir. Menu choice is adequate for snacks and sandwiches, cakes and drinks. There is no main meals here. Food was tasty and reasonably priced, pot of tea only £1.25. Main let down for us was the service and welcome (or lack... More

Really comfortable large room with en suite bath. James and Joanne could not have been more friendly or helpful to the extent they took us to a nearby pub so we could have a meal and pint and picked us up a couple of hours later. Breakfast was excellent and they even made us a packed lunch for our second... More

Stayed here on first day of Pennine Way, as many do. My room was in a separate block (old stables?) and was a bit spartan, but perfect with all the wet and muddy kit I had. Showers are shared, but good temperature and power. There is a kitchen available to cook your own , but I got a lift to... More

After the first day of walking the Pennine way in the pouring rain I opted out of camping and stayed at this B &B. (It is also a tea room).Spacious modern rooms with all the usual facilities. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly which made for a very enjoyable stay. Very good breakfast the following day. Lovely views over the... More

This is a good b n b, the owners are very welcoming (tea/coffee on arrival) and the ensuite rooms are stunning with a bathroom bigger than some hotel rooms I have stayed in. The owner was happy to drive us to the local pub (there is a charge for doing so). The breakfast was very nice (there is a tea... More
