Warm welcome from hosts. Hosts suggested some excellent dining venues and tourism. After getting caught in the rain, hosts dried my shoes on the radiator! The rooms were spotless, freshly decorated and spacious as was the town itself. Martha, Mary and the staff were wonderfully helpful ,offering friendly advise on places to visit and which were the best pubs in town. The breakfast was very good - try the full english belt buster. We recently spent a few days at the Swiss House in Castleton as the result of seeing the very complimentary reviews it already had on this site and we were not disappointed. Lovely room with plenty of storage space; bathroom had high standard of fittings with lots of shelf and hanging space. Super breakfasts. Would most definitely go there again. more

Right from the first contact by phone - friendly and very helpful. When I got there I was offered tea/coffee and a flapjack (home made). The room was spotless and very comfortable (as was the bed). The breakfast was quality and I felt totally relaxed. When I got back from walking, the boot-rack was used and the shower was bliss.... more
