Right from first contacting Alan, my whole experience of booking and staying is exceptional. I have never met such a happy, helpful and kind B&B owner before. As a single lady guest I feel completely comfortable here. My heavy holdall was carried upstairs and Alan made sure everything in my room was satisfactory, even getting me fruit and herbal teabags.... More

Tried to book one night at a weekend in the Peak District - not easy, everywhere wanted a minimum of 2 nights, but here accommodated us - thank you. Also getting a family room for 4 with 2 beds for children was nigh on impossible - but not here. Huge room with full double and 2 single beds so happy... More

Excellent B&B accommodation. Warm, comfortable and very welcoming. Thanks for an amazing breakfast Alan, your the best host, your friendly nature has put the Peak District and Castleton on the map as a place to return too. We will be back.

Alan was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We were visiting Castleton to go to the carol concert in Blue John caves and for a walk- the B&B was ideally located for this. Room was very nice and comfortable. Fantastic full English breakfast.

Stayed here for a half term break. Ideal for climbing Mam Tor which we did. Car parking is out front but if all spaces taken, there a couple at the back (on a bit of a slope - a little tricky getting out). Host very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast good with cereals, grapefruit and choice of cooked breakfast. Could have... More

We stayed in this B&B as a group of 8 guys on a mountain biking weekend. The standard of accommodation is very good for this area and Alan is very accommodating and relaxed and cooks a hearty breakfast for a day out on the hills. Location is perfect for accessing all the great rides and walks on the surrounding hills... More

This laid back B&B makes the perfect base for a weekend of walking. A hearty breakfast, a warm welcome and not so squeaky clean that you're afraid to walk up the stairs in your soggy walking shoes. I stayed alone, though I was meeting up with friends locally, and felt very at ease here. I'd certainly stay again, if only... More

We had a room on the loft and it was a cosy large room with great views of the mountains. Only small setback is as the room is in the loft, the shower bath tub was a little tight. The host, Alan was very friendly and made sure we were settled in nice and comfortably. The breakfast was delicious and... More

I came to the cute village of Castleton with my mum and this b&b was perfectly located for our stay. Alan was very hospitable and made an effort to chat with us and offer suggestions for our days. He is a genuinely friendly guy and wanted to make sure we were happy and comfortable whilst there. We had a large... More

My husband and I stayed here in Feb 2009 and it was such a great place to be based whilst visiting castleton that we returned here in Nov 2013. Alan remembered us which meant a lot and we had a great room with full bathroom at the top of the house...fab views! Great full breakfast with cereal, juice and toast... More
