This is a really lovely B&B! Perfect location and Janet, the host, couldn't be more helpful! I can't find a bad word to say!! We went to Mam Tor which is the best activity to do in my opinion, just beautiful! In short, book now!

Both Janet and Nick were lovely people, the house is very old and quaint, we stayed in the garden room which was very spacious, the garden is beautiful with a lovely sitting area, but it is a front garden and can be quite noisy with the cars going past most of the time. As the house is very old, we... More

I booked this place at random and was pleasantly rewarded with people who made me feel at home. Room was comfortable, very clean, and quiet. Views of the Peak District scenery from the window. Great breakfast, parking space, no extra charges. I will recommend the place to my friends and definitely will return if I am around that way again.

I travelled with my son and his wife and my grandson to lend a helping hand whilst my son endured a 24hour swim for charity for sick children at nearby Hathersage (which he completed by the way) I must say our hosts were the most friendly I have come across, always friendly and always accommodating. The premises were as advertised..full of... We stayed at Causeway over the weekend for our anniversary. We have stayed twice before and cannot fault the location, breakfast and Janet & Nick. Unfortunately on this occasion our stay was practically sleepless and rather stressful due to a baby crying in the room below ours. As the building is very old, everything can be heard throughout. This sleep... More

Right in the middle of Castleton, a perfect base, Janet and Nick are warm and friendly people, serving a fantastic breakfast and offering advice on the best routes to take where ever we wanted to go, could have spent longer in Castleton and if we ever revisit the area we wouldn't hesitate to stay in this delightful B&B.

We stayed for two nights in the garden room with patio. We aren't too used to staying in UK B&B's, so this review should be read in that context - i.e. very little experience for comparison. This is a historic building in the village, and oozes character with beams etc. One con on this was that if there are heavy... More

Thanks to Janet and co for an amazing stay. The four-poster bedroom was a delight, with it's own private en-suit toilet and shower. The bed was sooo comfortable, I slept like a log. There were fresh flowers in the room as well as tea, coffee and biscuits. In the bathroom there was shampoo, conditioner and large fluffy towels. The price... More

Stayed here on Tuesday for my husband's birthday. We had the garden room which was great for our dog Charlie.Spotlessly clean and comfortable with fluffy towels and chocs, biscuits tea and coffee etc. Janet was very welcoming and friendly and she and Joanne served a beautiful cooked breakfat. Janet had even gone to the trouble of getting gluten free bread... More

Spent three happy nights at Causeway House, Castleton. Lovely friendly owners - couldn't do enough for you. Breakfasts were great and my single room small but comfy with lots of tea, coffee, biscuits and even a chocolate on a towel each morning. Also TV and free wifi. Shared bathroom with my room but bathrobe supplied and for £35 per night... More
