On reading some of the reviews we were really looking forward to our 5 night short break at this cottage. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. How this can be rated as 4* amazes me. On arrival the cottage looked (and smelt) as though it hadn't been cleaned. Yes, the bed linen and towels were clean and the... More

I welcome all reviews and have never responded to one until now. I am responding, not because of the disappointment that I experienced when first reading it in June but because it contains some inaccuracies and several of my guests have suggested that I should try to redress the balance. 1. Despite what she says to the contrary the lady... More

Rushop Hall is a hidden gem but one that is well worth seeking out. My room was absolutely beautiful - a very high standard of finish and the huge walk-in shower was divine! I could have sat on the window-seat for ever - lovely view and I had swifts making a mud nest directly above the window whom I watched... More

Great one night stop at Rushop Hall when in the area for a friend's wedding. Lovely room in the main house. Beautiful rustic location with amazing views over the landscape. Very atmospheric. We arrived very early but it was not a problem for them. The real highlight was the delicious breakfast - hot, freshly prepared to order and very tasty.... More

My partner and I stayed in the Pepperpot cottage at Rushop Hall for two nights with breakfast included. The cottage is so cute and a perfect size for two people. It was nice and toasty with central heating and a wood burning stove and had everything you need for a short break. If we were staying for longer we would... More

We just spent a long weekend here and had a really lovely time. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and view superb ( we stayed in a twin room overlooking the Alpaca field) . We had an evening meal in the restaurant on the night we arrived and Neil cooked a great chicken dish for us..we could also both... More

We stayed for one night and experienced a warm and friendly welcome from Jan and Neil. We stayed in the new Bridle room which was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. We had an excellent meal in the new restaurant/cafe and enjoyed the best of locally grown and homemade produce. The new No Car Cafe makes for an excellent stop off... More

My wife and I have just spent 1 night here, having managed a short break in the country. What a great stay we had. Fabulous location. Great to stay on a working farm, with very friendly hosts, in a very clean and fresh room, with a great breakfast next morning. Certainly can recommend Rushop Hall. We will be back.

We stayed for two nights in the pepper pot and had breakfast in the hall every morning. The cottage was so quaint and romantic. A real treat to have a log burner in the bedroom. Great views from the cottage. Splendid views of unspoilt countryside from Rushop Hall. The cottage was very clean and top marks for the shower room.... More

Stayed for four nights B&B to give us time to explore this area of the peak district and had a superb time. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent and the welcome and help with planning each day could not have been better. Also so pleased we decided to be really lazy and eat in one night. The meal was... More
