We went for lunch as our daughter lives in Castle Donington. Thought we would see what is was like after a flyer was put through her letter box the previous day. Well the place could really do with a face lift....decoration is appalling and a musty smell! They came and took our order and then about 20 minutes later we... More

Thank you for your review. We were disappointed to hear you did not enjoy your Sunday lunch with us as we had a lot of positive comments from other diners. It was a very busy day of bookings and we apologise for any shortcomings experienced. We understand you spoke to the team on the day who apologised for any problems... More

Took friends with us to celebrate New Year at this 'gala' evening: what a disaster! Food was good, as was the service. It was New Years Eve and everyone in the room was looking forward to enjoying a party; how very wrong could we all be! We anticipated the jazz band playing while the meal was eaten, but not for... Food excellent, staff superb, accommodation very very tired although bed comfortable. The location is excellent, if it wasn't for the staff I would have left, far too expensive for the facilities in the rooms, had much better for less in other parts of the country including London.Hotel could be really good if brought up to date !!!

Just returned after one night stay and really would not recommend. We booked for convenience as we were visiting a restaurant that is owned by a good friend. We had booked a deluxe room, but as others have said, old furniture, peeling wallpaper, settee with the arm all ripped. The shower was pathetic, I think you could have stood there far a day and... We arranged to meet our grandchildren for brunch just after Christmas. We all arrived at 11.30am and the greeting could not have been better. Even though there was a christening party in we were made to feel most welcome. The staff were very attentive and could not do enough for us. Well done Donington Manor

Ok - I will say it is just coming up to the anniversary of my stay here in this hotel. I was working in the area and stayed for several nights. The place may be ok for a night out, but the hotel side of things.....well the rooms are period set in the 1970's and they smell of the public... More

Thank you for your feedback which has been shared with the team. In the New Year a refurbishment plan is taking place to update the hotel in keeping with the character of the former coaching inn. Many thanks Donington Manor Hotel More

Lovely hotel but don't go on a Saturday night when it's party night or a function is on. If you do ask for a room away from the noise. We had a young child but we were put in room directly above the bar. No sleep till 2am! Staff very friendly and they removed a bit on the bill for... More

We are looking for somewhere to have our Christmas Day lunch and figured we'd check out the Manor by visiting for Sunday lunch to see what the standard was like. I'm so glad we did, because if we'd had an experience like that on Christmas Day it would have been a deep disappointment. It started well. We had a friendly... More

Went for lunch with a friend as I had purchased a voucher on line. The staff were friendly and took our food order in the bar. I had smoked salmon starter and my friend had goats cheese, they were both very nice. I followed with a chicken and chorizo and pea risotto which was extremely good. Lynne had scampi and... More
