We only stayed one night as we were attending a wedding reception nearby. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and we had no trouble sleeping, except when the traffic started the next morning. In the middle of summer, being warm we needed to have the window open and as the pub is on the main road... More

We booked into this hotel as part of a wedding party. We asked for discount as we had booked ten rooms but none was forthcoming. Our room was a king at an extra charge, the wash basin had cracks in it, the shower was a tepid trickle and the hooks on the back of the bathroom door were broken and... More

The staff at the lion were amazing and so helpful and accommodating. I cannot rate them highly enough. Rooms are a little tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint, however, beds were comfy and there was hot water. Everything I needed and was happy with value for money.

My wife and I found the red lion ok but I didn't sleep too well, we had the room above the bar and the tv had been left on overnight, after struggling to sleep for a few hours I went downstairs in search of the source of the noise and found the tv on in the bar and turned it... More

Lovely staff did not make up for the very shabby state of this "pub with rooms". Food was good. Showers and water pressure appalling. Generally very run down. Wifi signal is not received in all bedrooms. We were moved from our first room as the shower was unusable, unfortunately the other room was just as bad. We were told that... More

Great place to stay on our visit to the UK. The staff were very helpful and suggested some great places to eat and visit. Air conditioning was a little noisy but it was a great stay for a couple of days on our 2nd visit from Canada.

Very helpful staff who always seemed cheerful and happy to help. Room was spacious and clean and well equipped. Frosted glass on the windows suggested there wasn't going to be much of a view which there wasn't as it looked out onto the fire escape and a very noisy air conditioning unit ( think that's what it was). That said... More

Bathroom had old hair clips on floor. 1 x roll of toilet paper. Shower was useless, no water pressure at all. Bed reading light didn't work, I took the bulb to reception but had no spares. Worst was no hot breakfast as kitchen had problems. Asked for refund but told breakfast price now all inclusive and not £7 as stated.... More

Me and my husband had our wedding reception here, we loved every single minuet of it, the room looked fantastic, the food was brilliant and the staff did the best they could to help every single one of us. The rooms are nicely set out, cosy and comfy.
