Lovely looking pub with a good selection of local ales, perfect to have a few drinks after a long walk. I would recommend stopping to quench your thirst. Interesting decor which you will discover when you go there. I had the local stout which was great and Sarah had the blonde bear and golden ale

as always, the food is good, value for money and good sized portions - you never leave hungry. It's usually busy, but the service is good and the food comes quickly. Car parking on site, plus there is road parking. A good pub in a beautiful area

Stayed here whilst working in the area. Rooms are clean, well equipped with really comfortable beds and home made biscuits! Breakfast was great. However, the staff member I dealt with on arrival wasn't at all welcoming and made me feel like an inconvenience, which was a shame as it was all good, other than that.

The portion sizes are really generous here. I ordered a chicken salad, which was okay, apart from the fact that the coleslaw was bland, the chicken was bland, and the new potatoes were bland. Seasoning once in a while does help, chaps. The bread, though, was absolutely delicious and very fresh. My acquaintance had a strawberry cheesecake, which was apparently... More

This is a lovely place to stay. If you're looking for a chic boutique hotel, this hotel isn't for you - but you will miss a gem! Great and friendly welcome, lovely meals (dinner and breakfast); fantastic location just a few yards away from Ladybower Reservoir; very comfortable room with nice touches such as fresh milk, handmade biscuits. Overall, a... More

No flavour at all (not just the bun - burger as well) service - just doesn't exist .... Any questions about the food - no! Any service staff asking... More

Stayed for two nights with a mate for a trip to sample the Peak District roads on our motorbikes. Really friendly, helpful and welcoming. Room was fine, food good and beer excellent. Good base for touring the area - recommended.

The Inn is located in the heart of the Peak District National Park and a short drive from many of the Park's attractions. Our room was well equipped with a smart modern bathroom. The accommodation block is away from the noise of the pub/restaurant. Breakfast was very good and the evening menu was varied with a traditional 'home cooked' feel.... More

We stopped here on way back to hotel after walking at Mam Tor. It was worth making the decision not to eat in Castleton. We had a nice meal, with good portions. A friendly pub atmosphere, good service and good beer. Parking is a bit tight, but there is nearby parking for anyone who can walk a few yards.

We stayed here over a very busy bank holiday weekend and was very impressed. We took our dog who was made to feel very welcome with a bed, bowl & biscuit waiting in the room for her. Room was clean. Food was lovely & breakfast was more than adequate. Will definitely return in the future.
