The Wheelhouse is the perfect place to stay in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside. A very comfortable bed and a tasty breakfast, what more do you need ? We liked the Wheelhouse, especially little touches like bottled water and fresh milk provided per room daily and toiletries. Only negatives were street lamp shining into Kipling - twin room,(blackout curtains would have solved that one) and very deep steps down into en-suite. However it was comfortable and the breakfasts were lovely. Also the garden was beautiful.

This B&B in Hulland Ward near Ashbourne is just perfect for a walking or cycling holiday in the lovely Derbyshire dales. Breakfast is delicious and feels quite luxurious because of the high quality presented. Brian and Valerie look after you so kindly ... It was just a blessing really. A very peace full place. We stayed in the DICKENS room... More

We stayed in the well equipped Bronte room which has dual aspect views across the countryside. Lots of nice little touches - fresh milk in a thermos, biscuits, sweets, bottled water, toiletries etc. A lovely breakfast to start the day with lots of choice including duck eggs, local bacon and sausage, with home made jams and marmalade. In the evening... More

we had a function to attend in hulland ward millennium village hall. we have stayed here before and were more than pleased with our welcome. On arrival we were greeted in a very pleasant manner. We registered and were shown to our room. Tea and coffee making facilities were available and milk was given in a flask. The room is... More

We have recently returned from a two night stay at the Wheel House and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We were in the Bronte room which is a lovely large room with dual aspect, a comfortable double bed and a great shower in the good size en suite. Biscuits and sweets are provided as well as toiletries. For breakfast... More

Based on the reviews for this cosy little B&B, I booked a night in August 2013 for my wife and I as we had a wedding to attend nearby. We stayed in the Kipling room, which has twin beds and a sizeable bathroom with shower (no bath). Everything was clean and the owners were very welcoming. The breakfast was very... More

Having spent 4 nights myself and spouse were well looked after. Breakfast's were cooked as per request and nothing was to much trouble for the owners who are very gracious and polite. We would certainly stay there again.

Stayed for 1 night in the Kipling room, it was a very pretty room with twin beds and a very large en suite bathroom. The owners were very welcoming, and fresh milk was brought up on our arrival. The room overlooks the road and at times road noise could be heard throughout the night. The room was spotlessly clean, and... More

I travel the British isles and some of Europe with work, so this is a fair and true review... Location is superb, or it was for the JCB plant where we were VIPs for the day. Room was superb and clean, great bathroom, (we were in bronte room) - right next to their bathroom, could hear everything Great bed, and... More
