Beds were very uncomfortable, tv reception was terrible and was freeview (not sky as advertised) bar staff weren't the brightest with there sums! Bathroom was outdated and pretty poor and the corridors and stair wells smelled like a nursing home. Breakfast had an excellent choice although was a little greasy and the eggs were under cooked.

Good location near nice town of Ashbourne and about twenty min from alton towers. cheap and cheerful hotel with friendly service, rooms ok but need a lick of paint especially bathroom, walls very thin

We stayed at this hotel for just the one night. Service was friendly but the standard of the rooms and bathroom facilities needs cleaning up and up dating. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Didn't use the leisure facilities so cannot comment.

There's no denying it, the whole building's fabric and fittings simply need up-dating. Strip-out old dated bathrooms, add new lighting, modernise the decor and hey-presto this hotel would rocket up the ratings. For a short stay we could overlook the dated appearances. Visited the Miraj with my wife, for afternoon tea and a beauty treatment. The hotel is in poor condition, and needs renovating throughout. The leisure facilities all need work.
