I booked a 2 night break here for my partners birthday over the May Bank Holiday weekend. Having told them in advance that it was for his birthday, when we got in to our room we found a birthday card waiting for him, which was a lovely surprise. The staff we spoke to were friendly and polite, especially the lady... More

Stayed here for 2 nights with our friends on a 'Living Social' deal. Our rooms were in the annexe building behind the hotel, which was nice & quiet. Our room (No 27) which overlooked the countryside towards the Lakes, was a good size, very clean with a lovely comfy kingsize bed. Breakfast both mornings was included in the deal, but... More

I have been using the Melbreak regularly over the last few years so much so that for business trips now I would really not think of anywhere in this part of the World because it has everything you need for a relaxed stay amidst all the general stresses and strains of business travel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The... More

We planned a short break back to the western lakes for the Easter bank holiday weekend. I left booking a little later than I should have, but even though the Melbreaks family room was booked, they took my details and rang me back shortly after my initial call and offered to rearrange their bridal suite to suit our needs (... I stayed here as part of a group, working in the area. The female receptionist was fantastic, very welcoming, and joined in with our usual "booking in banter" The bar was clean and well presented, though sadly had a very limited choice of pump beer. The majority were bottled...... We thoroughly enjoyed a group meal (14 of us) and we... More

Hello Ian Thank you for your review following your recent visit to the hotel. I'm glad to hear that, on the whole, you enjoyed your stay. I can fully understand your disappointment at the lack of pump ales; however, as we only have a small bar (and an even smaller cellar), we unfortunately have to draw the line somewhere. We... More

Had a meal at lunch time in the conservatory with 3 family members. It was pretty quiet. Good lunch time menu, although a little confusion over gluten free meals, not really clear in menu. Good pleasant staff members, and meal rather good as well. Portions not as large as in some local pubs, but setting and ambience of the place... More

As a single female traveller I could not have picked a better hotel. The staff are welcoming, the hotel is clean and the rooms are comfortable. We stayed at the Melbreak and got the 3 nights for 2 offer. We booked into the Executive suite which is great, really spacious with a big bedroom, big bathroom and separate sitting room. The shower was a bit weak so had a bath instead which was fine. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is Motel design, i.e. the... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your kind review following your recent trip to the lakes. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed all aspects of the hotel, especially the suite, which, I must agree, is lovely. My partner and I stayed the 10th Oct to the 12th, and found the hotel to be close enough to the coast where my family live to make it easy to see everyone, but also close enough to the lakes. The price for 2 nights was very reasonable, especially as it included breakfast. The room was lovely, comfortable and clean,... More
