Stayed here for a fortnight on business….. one week in Room 21, th other in room 6. Hotel is more of what I'd call a decent motel……. not oodles of flash hotel facilities but all you need for a few nights staying over for business. Room - both were decent size, decor is maybe a little dated but absolutely fine,... More

The highlight of the stay was definitely the staff - very friendly, helpful and efficient. When I booked and explained we may need to check in late I was asked if we would like the kitchen to make up sandwiches or a snack for us as the restaurant closed at 9pm. I thought this was a really nice touch and... More

Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel early June. We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we was visiting family who live nearby. We find the hotel very clean. The rooms are in a separate annex (motel style) from the main building where the restaurant, bar and reception is situated which I liked has it was quiet and... More

Brilliant friendly and quality service, food was very good. Would recommend this place for a quiet relaxing family meal together, well worth visiting. Don't always have to book a table in advance, can just drop in cause there's plenty tables.

We have just returned from a great long weekend at The Melbreak. This was a great base for exploring the Western Lakes. The staff were all really friendly and helpful with directions and places to visit, especially Alison, thanks chuck. We must admit, if we were to visit the lakes again we'd probably stay in Keswick itself as it was... More

The hotel and staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. You could get 2 for 1 on evening meals so we ate at the hotel three times as it was a drive to go anywhere else. It is well placed for exploring the Lakes and is less expensive as it outside the national park. The rooms were clean... More

Although the hotel seems to be in the middle of nowhere it was centrally placed for our purpose of visiting this area of Cumbria for 4 days, so suited our needs perfectly. The reception, bar and restaurant are situated in the main building at the front and the accommodation is in a separate block behind, motel style. Initially we were... More

we travelled up as a group of 4 from South Wales to stay at the melbreak hotel for the ukbff bodybuilding competition. On arriving at the hotel the first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful surroundings and how well presented the hotel looked. The receptionist was extremely welcoming and showed us to our rooms. We stayed in a... More

Dear Guest Thank you very much for your review following your recent visit to the hotel and congratulations on Mr Williams's success in the competition. I am deeply sorry to learn that your initial impressions of the hotel were sullied by a remark I casually made to Mr Williams; the remark most certainly was not meant to offend and was... More

Decided to give the Melbreak a try for Sunday lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed it. You don't get huge portions, but what you do get is very tasty. The desserts were very nice too. With the lack of choice in Workington, it would be a shame to overlook the Melbreak.
