we received a warm friendly welcome when checking in, the staff were polite and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and inviting with the added bonus of having en suite, with piping hot water, the food was fantastic and excellent value for money (I couldn't eat it all), the craic in the evening at the bar was excellent (my jaw... We stayed here the night before we started the C2C ,the hotel is old, over 300 hundred years, and in the town centre. Our room was spotlessly clean ,well equipped and very comfortable. When we checked in we were asked what time we required breakfast, we were told we could have continental breakfast in the small dining room if we... More

Stayed here for the C2C, paid £75.00 for 1 night and it was horrendous. Tiny Bedroom with the most uncomfortable bed ever, no bathroom just a sink. There was a shared bathroom for the 5/7 rooms on the top floor. However the water was freezing cold. The room was about 100 degrees, we opened the window, this opened onto the... More

Truely terrible hotel. Dirty, dated rooms where quite literally everything is either squeeky, broken or mauldy. Food in the bar/resteraunt area is ok, although every item is through the fryer. Breakfast poor, and waited 30-minutes to even place our order they were so badly staffed/managed. A hotel, al la Faulty Towers, straight out of the 1970s that belongs in the... More

We were part of a C2C group and found this met our needs for really good food, comfy clean rooms and secure bike storage. It isn't the fanciest, plushest hotel but that wasn't what we there for. Look past the decor and recognise the excellent provision of good grub and and a good night's kip. DO take ear plugs though,... More

Booked in at 3:30. Very dated, so dated you sign a visitors book on arrival. No heating in the room and it's below zero outside. No lift, no help to get bags to the room. Tried to have a shower, no hot water. No bath, nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom not even a small shelf. Though make the most... More
