Croft Hill Guest House is brighter, quieter, and very much cleaner than many hotels. We stayed in Room 4 (ensuite) and even though our special request was a great deal of trouble and for one night only, Joanne and Andrew complied with pleasure. Full, fresh English breakfast cooked on an AGA cooker, fire in the grate, brisk English countryside outside,... More

I stayed here as a single visitor for 3 months between September and December 2013 while working in the area. The rooms in the guest house were in my opinion, such high quality it was like staying in 5 star accommodation. Most of my stay was spent in the attic conversion which has an area just inside the door like... More

As entertainers, we had a little job in Whitehaven, and picked the Croft Hill based on TripAdvisor reviews. First impressions weren't great, with no signage confirming location, and with three carelessly parked cars taking up enough space for five cars. We had to park carefully just inside the property wall to make sure we blocked no-one. The entrance porch area... More

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Woolfest in Cockermouth. Croft Hill is a lovely guest house and is in a lovely, quiet location with surrounding countryside. We were welcomed by Andrew and shown to room 3, twin. The room contained everything we needed and we only 'shared' the huge bathroom for 1 night with room 1 with no problems.... More

We have stayed at Andrew and Joanne's beautiful guest house several times and it is always an excellent experience. Their converted Georgian farmhouse set high up on the main route into Whitehaven is understated, decorated and kept to a very high standard. We have stayed in both the corner room on first floor (room 2) and the loft conversion which... More

We stayed here for one night at short notice owing to the poor weather forecast, rather than stay in an unheated caravan. We were a little apprehensive about the shared bathroom arrangement, however, as previous reviewers had identified, this was spacious, spotlessly clean and modern and caused no issues for us. Our room was more than adequate, very comfortable beds,... More

We stayed at this guest house as we are currently relocating to west lakes and needed a place to stay while we had a look at a few properties. It is in a great location, only a short drive from Whitehaven town centre and really easy to find. We did have a little bit of a problem with check-in which... More

We booked the Croft Hill Guest House on behalf of colleagues working in Whitehaven during June, July, August and September 2012. They stayed monday through to thursday each week and Andrew could not have been more accommodating in organising their stay and making them all feel very welcome. We would have no hesitation in using the Croft Hill again and... More

The owners are lovely and welcoming the rooms are perfect and the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had. We felt at home and nothing was too much trouble. The building and grounds are fantastic and the views are stunning.... More

Staying at Croft Hill was a pleasant surprise for the price we paid. It is a beautiful location and the rooms are clean, large and well appointed with extremely comfortable beds. The owners are a lovely young couple who deserve your support and custom. It's a tough business and they do a great job. You can't help but feel like... More
