I've stayed here twice now and always have a great sleep. The continental brekafast is great too - fruit juices, cereals, yoghurts, toast, coffee... I'd highly recommend this B&B for anyone looking for a good night's sleep and filling breakfast. My room was very spacious with a great en-suite.

We arrived really late owing to circumstances connected to our event organisers and so we ended up sleeping, eating and leaving but Norah and her husband were ever so helpful and had kindly laid out a lovely breakfast. Great room, very quiet location with amazing animals - wished I could have stayed longer. Thanks!

I recently stayed at Chesnuts for just under a week whilst on business in the area. The facilities were superb: clean room, tea and coffee facilities, mini fridge, tv, comfortable bed, great breakfast. The hosts were excellent and went above and beyond what would be expected of B&B hosts. The two dogs were also very friendly and loved a bit... More

This is the second time ive stayed at this b&b for work. The service is absolutely brilliant the rooms are lovely and clean. The food on a morning is great way to start a busy work day as well. Definitely definitely would recommend this place.

Stayed here whilst away with work, had a very comfortable stay. Was made to feel very welcome upon arrival and was greeted by the dogs too, as well as a few other creatures as well. I had the most comfortable bed I have slept in for ages, and the most amazing shower, 8 shower heads, WOW! Was so relaxed and... More

After a long day on the road with work the standard thing would be look for the nearest travel lodge. Well... I thought I'd take a slightly different avenue. This place can only be described as one gem of a place! Situated a couple of minutes away from the stunning Whitehaven Harbour, Chestnuts is what can only be described as... More

A friendly, open welcome, good food and clean, comfortable accommodation. After the rigours of the train journey up (!), Norah and Bob's home was just the place to metaphorically gird the loins and set off refreshed on the first leg of the C2C. Norah made us an excellent meal in the evening and a sustaining breakfast to carry us on... More

Nora & Bob were excellent hosts and not only made you feel welcome they made you feel part of the family. Nora runs a pet service too (Norah's Ark) and she showed us around the animals which was lovely. She has a pet parrot which was very amusing he whistled Shubert one minute then mimicked a washing machine the next.... More

I have just spent three nights here while on a trip down memory lane (I used to live in this area). The welcome couldn't have been better from Norah and Bob and from all of the animals. Food was great - I had a meal on my first night and decided to keep repeating the experience and breakfast was excellent.... More
