Went to The Chase for Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and efficient making us feel welcome and seating us quickly. The food was simple but nicely presented and plentiful. The dining room was quiet, clean and nicely furnished with a plenty of light. There is plenty of car parking and the hotel is close enough to the town... More

I attended a funeral reception at The Chase was surprised to find that a venue which holds family events does not provide any baby changing facilities. I had to change my baby's nappy on the floor of the disabled toilet. Not only was this impractical in formal clothing but very unhygienic. Staff seemed very friendly but not hugely attentive, slow... I went here for a wake and found there was no where for me to change my baby. When i asked a member of staff i was told to "do it on the toilet floor" it would take 10min to attach a changing table to the wall and im sure there not expensive. I wont be going back here and... More

I stayed here for a week on business. The hotel is wel placed for access to Whitehaven, and the room was clean, but ready for refurbishment.. The wifi was weak and frustrating. The welcome from the gentleman was abrubt and not particularly welcome, but the ladies later during the week compensated. Maybe he had a bad day, or it wasn"t... More

Firstly its worth mentioning i have stayed here a few times previous and never had any real issues, however this time it was a disaster from start to finish. Was checked in by a gent on reception who wasn't very polite at all and had the attitude that i should be lucky to stay there as they were fully booked... More

This was our second visit to the Chase. Once again they seemed to cater for those who preferred full fat milk (our hospitality tray had 6). When I asked at reception if it was possible to change them for semi-skimmed I was abruptly told that they didn't have any. We then went out to purchase our own milk! On our... More

Stayed one night at the Chase whilst on business. Room was up four flights of stairs (no lift) which was a little hard on my arthritic knees. Room was large & very comfortable, although the carpet had definitely seen better days & had several noticeable stains. I had a meal in my room & it was very good, chicken goujons... More

We stayed here overnight before starting the C2C. It was easy enough to find. Very geared up to the cyclists and we were not the only people staying there to start the ride. The hotel owner was very friendly. It was useful that there was a restaurant on site as had locked our bikes up in the secure lock up... More

For about the 7th time in 12 years, I've spent a long weekend at this hotel. As usual, the hospitality food and Courtney of the staff is something to shout about. As a group of 20 golfers playing, 3 courses in 3 days, we could not have a better base. Friendly staff, chef providing excellent breakfasts to set you up... More

Stayed at the Chase for a Golf weekend in August 14. The welcome, the helpfulness of all the staff during my stay was just great. Breakfast was really good and Dinner was as good as I have had, nothing seemed too much trouble for the Chef - I would recommend the Steaks and a rather fantatsic Plaice and King Prawn... More
