Just the most amazing location situated at the head of the Wasdale valley. Perfect for any serious fell walkers/runners out there, only the best of the Lake District outside the front door for your enjoyment (Gabel, Pillar, Scafell's etc). Just a 5 minute walk back to the only Pub within 5 miles, great food offered here. Breakfast at the Burnthwaite... More

Excellent breakfasts, brilliant location. Really off the beaten track! Andrew is a very friendly host and the lounge area is very comfortable and cosy. There are even some interesting books to read. Recommend B&B!

I first came here in 2005 as I wanted creature comforts not available at the National Trust camp site the road. The welcome I received was so warm and friendly back then. June 2014 was my next trip to Wastwater and I knew exactly where I wanted to stay. I wasn't disappointed! Nothing has changed in 9 years except for... More

Andrew, our host, was so accommodating. Our room was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfasts were just the ticket before setting out on a day's walking. Couldn't fault anything about our stay. Definitely coming back! Neil & Katherine

I booked one night at the Burnthwaite Farm B and B and as we left in the morning to continue our motor cycle ride I wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was spotlessly clean and the facilities lovely albeit the room we had wasn't ensuite. This did not cause us a problem. The Breakfast was top and the... More

No internet. No mobile signal. No noise apart from bleating sheep and water in the stream. No street lights. What could be more blissful? We were probably lucky as only three of their seven rooms were occupied at the time of our stay and I guess it might be noisier if it were busier - if only from the sound... More

I've stay at Burnthwaite farm many times and its a great place to stay if you want to explore wasdale and Scafell Pike. It's right at the top of the wasdale valley. It's a working sheep farm and although the rooms are rustic they are comfortable and excellent value for money. Th single room I always stay in has no... More

A little gem surrounded by beautiful mountainous scenery with excellent pub/restaurant which serves excellent food only 5 min walk away. On arrival greeted with a warm welcome by Andrew the proprietor. Very cosy and very clean. I can't wait to go back!

Stayed here over a few days at the end of October. Slight drive getting there but the final leg just became more stunning by the minute. Perfect positioning for all manner of mountain and lake walking. Very cosy and warming living arrangements, wonderful 'home' to come back to after a day hiking especially with the welcoming communal area next to... More
