We enjoyed a lovely two night break at this nice country house hotel. On arrival the staff were very welcoming and we were delighted to be offered an upgrade to a named superior room at no extra cost. The room was large and had everything we required and had a nice view over the gardens to the Newlands Valley. We... More

This hotel completely blew me away. It is in such a beautiful peaceful location, the room was great (with an absolutely massive bed), the swimming pool and facilities perfect after a long day walking, the food delicious and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. There is not one aspect of this hotel that was not excellent. I would definitely recommend... More

Initial review a couple of years ago...and my.... I keep choosing to go back. Had a lovely weekend and would first like to mention how wonderful the single rooms are here! Not cupboards or after thoughts, like some well know Lakeland Hotels I can mention...but real rooms with fantastic views and excellent facilities. I like a walk..however I am not... More

We booked half board in a superior room and felt so comfortable with our greeting and the spacious room that the was our home for the next 3 nights...... and it felt like home (or better!) the room was spotless and was cleaned daily to a high standard. The dinner menu choice was excellent with specials available daily and we... More

This is a gem of a place, on walking into the hotel the quality was evident, decor was tastefully done and very warm and welcoming. Excellent location for visiting the surrounding area. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is lovely and the water was warm, just perfect after... More

This is perhaps our fourth or fifth visit to this hotel. Again I cannot find anything bad to say about the place. The views from the lounges and conservatory take some beating. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The pool and spa are warm and well maintained. Room was comfortable and well decorated, food again is excellent, as is... More

We loved this hotel. Staff can't do enough for you we had a friendly warm welcome with a room upgrade. Towels changed daily facilities such as pool sauna etc were very clean. Food was delicious although not enough (were big eaters!) more than enough breakfast though we could not fault this hotel and will definitely be back.

I've stayed all over the world and I love this place. The building is old in some places but the owner continues to upgrade all areas and rooms. Fantastic staff and service. Great food and moderate to great rooms. Love swimming pool on site.

My husband and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in early October staying 2 nights. From the moment we arrived we felt cared for, an air of calm and attention to detail. The fine dining was stunning, the atmosphere and staff attentive and efficient. We dined both evenings, the second enjoying the taster menu. The hotel... More
