Really warm welcome. Garden room was clean, well furnished and excellent size for 3 (2 adults and 14 year old son). Next door to lovely pool, sauna and jacuzzi with views over Derwentwater. Food was delicious and service standard high. Excellent location for walks in the area - start of Skiddaw ascent is 10 mins walk from the gate. Would... More

First impressions count and this one definitely lives up to it. We were first met on arrival by an adorable young lady at the front desk, full of bounce and who made you feel very welcome. The restaurant staff were polite and catered for every need. The room and the view from it were perfect, and a pool with a... More

Trip advisor tell me my review must only deal with one aspect of this hotel. So the negative is what I have to select despite other aspects being fine. Evening meals got progressively longer and longer to be served so that by the fourth evening we felt very let down - two and a quarter hours before we got the... More

This is such a lovely place to stay and our two nights proved just the treat we were looking for. We arrived in warm sunshine, in time to enjoy tea and home-made biscuits on the terrace, with its magnificent views across the valley to the fells beyond. Our standard room was smallish, but was very comfortable and provided everything we... More

My wife and I stayed at Lyzzick Hall hotel and absolutely loved it. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer stay in the lakes even if was just for the view. On a downside the swimming pool is a tad small, but with that view do you really care. The restaurant is superb with a great breakfast and... More

What can I say, every aspect of our short stay was perfect, lovely well appointed comfortable rooms, great food and menu choices, friendly service and the personal touch throughout, views to die for. Peaceful atmosphere.

Last minute booking for the Sunday of bank holiday. We have a nearly-2 year old. The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us out with the little one, let us eat a little earlier and her occasional tantrums weren't an issue. The food was delicious, and they were happy to make something up for our daughter (a pasta, which... More

We dined at the lyzzick tonight, 20/08/2014. It was fabulous, food was fantastic. Service was exceptional, surroundings were beautiful, I could not fault anything. I have been fortunate to have dinned in the some of best restaurants around the world and I would put this up there with the best. I would definitely recommend the lyzzick and hopefully will stay... Stayed three nights. Here's what we liked: Beautiful location, surrounded by gorgeous countryside, mountains and pretty gardens. Set back from the road. Felt secluded but just a short drive to Keswick. We got an upgrade to a lovely junior suite with a large bathroom and comfy bed. Lovely warm swimming pool. Not so Much: shower tray that wouldn't drain. If... More
