My family of 8 adults visited the farmers arms for my mums 50th birthday as we were staying in the lakes for the weekend. The food was ok, quite expensive for what we got though! Our huntsman's platter was supposed to come with a selection of cheeses that we had to ask for (then the cheese came out at the... More

Popped in for a meal, not staying. Great pies, generous portions, chips were perfect, crisp outside & fluffy inside. Veg done & served just right, delicious 'sliced potatoes' a variation on a theme of Dauphinoise. Great variety of seating - we chose the sofas with view to hills as I had to rest my sprained ankle on the sofa, (I... More

I stayed at the Farmers for over 5 months this year as I was working in the area and found it to be a very good place to stay either if your passing through or staying for a longer period firstly the owners Debra and Angus were very hospitable and welcoming which spread through to the rest of the staff... We were returning to Grange over Sands, and chanced upon the Farmers Arms at Spark Bridge. The building is an absolute picture of period country living in Britain. It is freshly painted, rendered to the general public with pride, and made bright and attractive by hanging flower baskets. A large level private car park, is provided, and more than adequate... We stopped here after a day driving around the Lakes. We were greeted by the manager who warned us about the low beams as one of us is over 6ft! Very olde decor which was lovely. Staff were great, especially the man who served us. Food was tasty. When a mistake was made it was dealt with straight away. Staff... More

My partner and I have just returned from a tour of northern England. One of the places we stayed was the Farmers Arms. We were greeted by the very friendly managers, Angus and Debra, had a couple of drinks before being shown to our extremely comfortable room. We later had dinner in the restaurant which was very good. On our... More

We all enjoyed our dinner at The Farmers Arms. The food was really very good, big portions and freshly cooked. The service was attentive and friendly. Drinks were fine. This is a nice clean pub serving good food well. Well worth a visit. We will be back.

We visited this place en route to our destination as a stop over and I can honestly say I wish we hadn't bothered. Staff we encountered looked as if they should be at school! Although I'm sure they were all over 18 and old enough to serve behind a bar but they all came across with limited social skills and... More

First visit here and will definitely go back. Found the staff to be very helpful. Although they were very busy and most tables in the main dining area were reserved they were accomodating in finding us alternarive seating outside or in the stables bar. We sat in the stables bar, the service was good, the choice of food on the... More

We visited this place for a meal and really weren't disappointed! We'd actually gone to the Royal Oak (just down the road) first of all after seeing the online reviews, but although the menu sounded tasty, the seats were uncomfortable, the bar staff unhelpful, the whole place filled with overly scented candles and there was a massive leak by the...
