I have stayed at church walk a number of times now and have no hesitation in returning. The house is beautifully decorated with great flair , Martin and John take great pride in the decor and this is obviouse when you stay. I stay on my own and have felt very welcome and well looked after, which is why I... More

The reviews are great and the photos on the website look good, so we had very high hopes. The welcome was warm and genuine, the breakfast was freshly cooked and enjoyable, the house was well appointed and very conveniently located. Our slight disappointment was our room. We booked a double room with en-suite facilities, but we were offered a choice... More

Staff is friendly, breakfast is traditional and well presented, but accommodations failed to meet expectations. The building is a lovely, well appointed Victorian conveniently located in the town center. However, my spouse and I booked in for a double only to find we were given a room with twin beds. A request to change to a room with one double... More

We stayed at Church Walk House B & B for 3 days over Christmas so that we could be with our daughter & her husband on Christmas day. John & Martin couldn't have been more welcoming. The bedrooms were lovely & the breakfasts were superb. We will definately be returning.

We stayed here the night before we left for the 80 Cumbria way Hike. It was a cute place. Martin and John were wonderful hosts. The breakfast was great, good choices. They did not have soap in my bathroom and we didnt have any hand towels, but otherwise it was a great.

This Guest House should be your first call when staying in Ulverston. Martin and John are brilliant hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Very enjoyable stay. Freedom to come and go as I wished. I certainly would recommend you stay here and I will stay there again in the future

First stumbled upon when stuck in pouring rain on our way to a camping holiday in the Lake District, this is our fourth visit to this guesthouse, and a highlight of our annual Lake District holiday. Totally charming house, lovely rooms, guest lounge with books, TV and comfy chairs, breakfast always lovely. John and Martin make you feel like old... More

We stayed here as on our 1st night before walking the Cumbria way and what a fantastic introduction to Ulverston it was. We were slightly lost and flustered when one of the owners approached us in the street and guided us to the right place and when reaching the house we were met by the other owner who was just...
