This is an excellent country pub which we visited at New Year. A brilliant selection of ales and beautiful food served next to the open fire. Great all round and we will definitely be visiting whenever we are in this area of the lakes! Staff are very friendly, the only improvement would be if the menus were on the tables.

We just returned from a night here, we wanted a quiet get away after Christmas and this was perfect! We arrived and were greeted immediately by friendly helpful staff and shown straight to our room. The room was lovely, a spacious yet cosy en suite with real beams. After relaxing we headed down the the restaurant and were shown straight... More

We spent three nights here in a small but comfortable room. The food was very good with a good range of options for breakfast. Dinners in the pub were excellent. This is a good venue for exploring the Lake District at a reasonable price.

I believe this to be a fair review.. Stayed here only one night. Firstly lovely old pub with blazing fire. True England. Shown to our room in the attic. Therfore head room was lacking on one side of the bed. Not overally concerned but I did crack my head in the night as I forgot. Decor dated and bathroom had... More

We were a group of six guys from Scotland on an annual cycling trip to the Lakes. We have been coming down in September for the last 30 years and used to stay with a friend in Windermere but he's moved to Kendal so we decided to find somewhere nice to stay in the area. In recent years we called... More

Lovely comfortable and clean attic room with everything you need and a separate private bathroom. Great value for money, Full English Breakfast was delicious and enormous and plenty of smoked salmon with the scrambled eggs. Ate a meal in the restaurant which again was tasty. The trout starter (a special) was the best starter my partner had ever had! Quirky... More

Apologies for you not having a good nights sleep. We have checked the room again and filled any crevices and holes which were missed after the first incident to prevent any further intrusion. More

Booked the accommodation based on reviews ie quite location beautiful views etc. The Inn is beautifully situated in a very small village about 30 mins drive from Winder mere. We stayed in room 1 which we found to be of adequate size, beautifully clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable, I found the pillows less so, although I must... More

Thanks for your feed back. Agree need to find a new site for the cooling fans as you say we do turn them off every night by 10.30/11.00 unless requested earlier. Regarding the food service times it can depend on what you order as we have certain dishes that are ready to go immediately and others take more time. More
